Game of Thrones

I was planing to watch it in Autumn, but I finally did it. Just finished first season. It's sooooooooooooooooooo amazing. I always admire this kind of stories, the middle ages, wars between families. It is so fascinating. Tomorow is for season 2 !!!

Egoiste: The very first scene of episode one from season 1 got me right away. I don't really remember much the specifics of that season, but I would say it's still the best and consistently strongest of all the seasons so far.

Season 3 is... a hit-and-miss for me. Episode 6 was strongest, and this latest one is dreadful. Just flat. Dany's scene looked impressive enough; her surrounded by her loyal entourage, soldiers and dragons. And I'm glad they're showing her gathering her slave-army from more than just one city, but the scene itself lacked energy and intensity-- kinda like a deflated version of her meeting and conquest of the first slave city (sorry, can't remember the name). The other scenes were equally boring. The blandest and most disappointing scene was the last one "The Bear and the Maiden Fair". Mechanical and rushed. With only 2 more episodes left, I sense events will be rushed.

And Ygritte needs a smackdown courtesy of Arya... If she says "You know of nothing, Jon Snow" once more... Rich coming from someone who's never even been eaten out before...

Totally agree about the Bear and Maiden Fair. I thought that could've dragged out a bit longer, and I would've loved every additional second of it. And the anthropomorphic swatting on the ground before charging :lol:

Getting really tired of the Theon torture scenes. It's like OK we get it, he's being tortured. Reveal the character already!!!

I was really hoping Joffrey pull an epic stupid move with Tywin in the throne room. But that fell flat too. Although next week's preview does show him pulling a knife on Tywin, so I suspect the smackdown is coming at least. :woot:

yessss I just can't stand Theon torture scenes anymore! I feel they are just incredibly long for their purposes and that such time could be used with other scenes…

I'm also getting a bit tired of how long the "sexy" scenes are! And some of them are just pure fan-service – cause they can show lots of buttocks – but I really just feel like a third wheel watching those :ermm:

i fear that there might be a little bit of disappointment when Boy's character is finally revealed to the audience. there hasnt been much emphasis on his roots to possibly make an impact, but i'm thinking that things will catch up in the future episodes following Theon's POV. i do love Iwan Rheon's performance though, whoever would have thought he could be so devilish :ninja::heart:

I agree with those that mentioned the bear scene was under whelming. After reading the books, I was looking forward to this scene because of the tension but the show's scene had none of that. It was so rushed.

^^^ It's like they forgot to include the scene-- which, you know, is the title of the episode... and hurriedly filmed it quickly and rammed it in the final few minutes.

And did that bear slapped Brienne???? SHe hardly flinched, nevermind falling to the ground with a mangled and broken bloody face-- or dead... Worst episode-- felt like a series of sloppily cobbled together scenes they found on the cutting-room floor.

(And the costumes for the Dany scene looked really cheap-- like Xena-cheap.)

Theon's scenes are boring me too, they take too long.

I loved how Dany looked in that white dress, they really are making her more glamorous now which is good, it kind of makes me miss Cersei's wild hair do's.

About time we get a nude scene with Richard Madden (Robb Stark) it was long overdue.

Also here is a tumblr that I think people in this thread and on this forum would enjoy, it's such a guilty pleasure for me

Dany did look so radiant in the white dress. She is starting to look like a Queen.

Second the Robb Stark scene. We have seen so much if others it was about time!

Only 3 episodes left? I feel like a lot happened yet nothing happened...

Don't forget, after this Sundays episode, next Sunday, the 26th, is that "Behind the Candelabra" HBO movie about Liberace (which looks absolutely delicious :woot: ), and we'll be GoT-free for a whole week.

I'm not sure why HBO is just sticking the Liberace movie into the usual GoT slot instead of playing it after the season finale.

I'm so over Robb Starks storyline. It's so boring.
Although I do love the Lannisters. At this point in the season I think Dany is the only one for me that has an interesting storyline.

I forgot about the Liberace movie, I knew we were getting that one week break of GOT if it's filled with that film I don't mind, it does look awesome. I'm looking forward to it.

Its not really Robb Stark's storyline, its actually Catelyn Stark's (they show a lot of him since she is there) so soon, probably by the end of this season, they will move away from just focusing on Robb.

Another great episode! I'm really NOT looking forward to the finale, I want this to go on forever.

I kinda wished that captain with the scar was Daario, not the younger guy. I mean he's cute too, but that captain was HOT!! Too bad that's the last we'll see of him.

SAM! You left the obsidian blade behind!
