General CHANEL Questions

I was wondering why none of the major distributors of Chanel do not sell them on their website's? Like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Barney's etc? Can anybody tell me!?

the colors always change... although for the 2.55 bags they always have the black, white, beige and i think pink as well.. and they come in diff hardware... silver, gold or pewter (although i rarely see this). they also come in the pebbley caviar leather or the smooth (but hard to take care of) lambskin and in a few sizes. this season they're doing the classic 2.55 in red as you'll prolly see in the ads with daria. they also have their classic totes like the one mischa barton has on the OC... and then there's the cambon bags, which they are continuing, which come in a variety of shapes and in black/black, black/white logo, white/black logo, beige/black logo, pink/black logo... oh, and they also do the 2.55s in a variety of tweeds that vary from season to season (there was a pink one that was pretty popular that charlotte on satc carried).
i'd suggest you visit a store to get a better idea. when you've held them and seen them in person it's much more accurate than seeing a picture, even an authentic one.
if i recall correctly, you live in the bay area right? i'd suggest you go to neiman marcus in palo alto and they have a decent selection.

i'm actually rather glad (although it's kinda frustrating sometimes) that chanel products (aside from cosmetics, skincare, fragrance) aren't sold online... it makes it more exclusive and slightly less accessible than the point and click LV, dior, etc.

Do you think that they do not sell their items online to make it more exclusive or is there another reason?

hm well i dont work in retail or fashion but i personally think it's exclusivity and perhaps that the quantities are more limited...esp if you think about the house itself... the image and the history. i just cant see it

how to tell if chanel is authentic

i have this vintage chanel...i think from the 60's...how do i tell if its the real thing?

Chanel bag, my fave at the mo

its cute but kinda plain...at the price that they sell chanel bags at....i would rather take the money for that bag...im guessing...1500...and buy the cute aldo( who do the best designer knockoffs without saying their designer knockoffs)version...and put the other 1450 into somethin more worthwhile, but thats just my opinion

I  that Chanel bag, ever since I saw a woman in NYC carrying it in black, gorgeous.

It's from the Fall 04' collection, Brian.

I am in love with it, goes with everything and is classic, yet young and cool too I feel! It's my baby! I bought it to cheer myself up cos I ruined a Chloe bag trying to clean it
