^ OMG stop it!! if u guys hear about a girl breaking into reese's closet in the next few days that might be me... sigh. how i dream of being able to get one of each - bronze metallic, brown with gray ostrich handles, and perhaps an ivory one. oh wait throw in a blue patent maxi in there. ok i'm done now.

I know this is a Givenchy thread but say between the YSL grey rive gauche, black metallic medium nightingale, and plain black medium nightingale, which one would you get (not for me)?
btw, does anyone know if Barneys still have the medium black or metallic black available in store? It seems to be all gone on the website

^foxie, that question is tough...the ysl is very, very classic...the givenchy is slightly more edgy. does that help?

hey guys, i just bought the original nightingale maxi in black patent!!! i had the black calf maxi , but wanted something with crinkled patent. this was it. i went to pick up the large nightingale tote featured in the barneys purse book and it just didnt do it for me... for all of you who havent seen it IRL. it is longer than the original nighingale maxi. it is a litle too vertical for me. the new strap is sort of ordinary too. it is a mixture of canvas and patent. no cool zipper on the long strap... i found it very disappointing for $1895 plus tax. barneys did NOT order the original maxi in black patent, but i found one! the bottom is not as structured as the black calf so it smooshes up a bit more like balenciaga bags.B) it still has the classic shape and lines of the original nightingale maxi. i will post pix when it gets here... i think the original nightingale will be a classic bag.

uniq, and g girl, yes, that is the one! it does NOT look like that IRL. the barneys purse book has a pix of it and that is what it DOES look like IRL. it is definitely longer than the classic nightingale and the shoulder strap looks sorta cheap and common compared to the classic zipper strap. it looks like a big vetrical tote, nothing special like the original. i will post pix of mine when it gets here. the crinkled black patent is really fun.B) a little bit more smooshy than the black calf.

my new maxi washed distressed cracked black patent nightingale is here!!! what do you all think? it is way nicer than the patent leather nightingale tote in the barney's catalog. it is the same original nightingale shape, but sooo smooshy. it reminds me more of my balenciagas. here are some pix.B)
