barneys in sf had a deep red/burgundy-ish color at barneys...

kimair- No, I have not seen it in person. Which other colors did SF have? Im suppose to be coming out there this weekend, so ill drop by. I never liked ink, I prefer black or ivory or patent any color and yum yum purple

To clear up the question about purple on the last page.. they DID make a purple for s/s of this year. It came out the same time the new leather ones did (in the batch with the one Nicole Richie has). I only saw it in the medium size, but I presume it also came in the XL. I saw it at Barney's several times, and it was most definetly a deep, true purple without a hint of brown. I don't know why people get on these high horses saying "they never made it, and I wouldn't lie." I don't think anyone is saying that people lie on here, but perhaps they are just misinformed....

exoticarbcqen...they definitely had black and brown...and the burgundy color...
mundo...i couldn't tell if it was patent or not...i don't think so...

the givenchy bags are in these wall cases, and you have to get someone to show them to you...it's a bit annoying...
the only ones they have open are the bettina and the clarabelle...

Barneys in New York and sometime over the summer? I want to say late July-early August, and it was there a few times I was in over the course of probably a month or so.

BNY had it in the Aubergine, Black & Brown in the medium size. So the Aubergine would look quite purple. I didn't see it though... ;-)

barneys has the new crushed patent that brian was talking about a while back. it's $1395 for medium

i don't really think it's all that, it reminds me of crumpled tin foil

i think its a really hot bag... i mean look at that is just pleasing to look at, but it almost seems a bit dangerous... it's very chic.

i'm going to go to barneys today and check out with they have...
i'm hoping they have the aubergine or blue or purple one in stock so i can get a good idea of the color...

so i just got back from barneys and they had the elusive purple nightingale!

it actually is more of an eggplant that a purple (comparing it to say balenciaga's violet, this isn't as vibrant)...
they only had one left, its the medium size and it's $1295...
they also had the following in stock:

large crinkled patent in a reddish-brown color (looked different in daylight vs. indoor lighting)
black medium & large
brown medium & large
black with metallic ostrich handles, i think xl
tan washed leather with gold metal trim (very nice, but the shoulder strap is thick and awkward)

if you call there, ask for laura...

Kimiar..was the washed tan like this one on the BNY web page?
I think they have the original wider handle with the zipper.

yes, that was the exact bag, pinkie...
i was seriously thinking about getting it, but the wider strap was cumbersome to me...
the leather on it was really, really nice...
