I live next to this really posh snobby store and I just wanted to know how much the givenchy nightingale was, and I asked how much is that nightingale, and the lady had no idea what I was talking about...and then I showed her the bag..and she was like..ahh...ohh..it's the name of the bag..

it is so difficult to track down a perfect one! and it seems like they refuse to carry ordinary black ones. i dont like those patent red/purple ones at all why cant they get the black ones???!!!! and i went to the givenchy store and they dont have much stock even. i felt like i've tried everything

I ordered the maxi nightingale from Barneys in black "matte" wrinkled lambskin and received it late last week (just in time for a plane trip) - I'm very very happy with it. It is big, easy to carry, has a certain casual luxe look that works for me, and is a very practical bag (if something so expensive can be said to be truly "practical!").

Did they ever make a black fabric nightingale with black leather handles???
I saw a girl in Paris carrying one and I absolutely loved it!!! I asked a Givenchy employee about it but he had no idea what I was talking about.

I'm hoping that the Givenchy bags, at least some of them, will go on sale when Barneys NY starts their sale in a week or so. The good ones, especially the Nightingales, hardly ever go on sale but a girl can dream...
