This is what Ghesquière should have done in stead of whatever he's doing now. I haven't even bothered to look at Balenciaga this season. I've been looking forward to this ever since HC, he really won me over. But where are the detail shots?

i feel the same about givenchy actually! a really great and beautiful collection, the golden" things on the clothes are marvelous!!

Tisci showed, more than any other collection he's shown to date; the state of the times, the new sensibilities that govern contemporary fashion.

The naval inspired outerwear transcended their cliche military influences, the black draped dresses were removed from the "avant garde"-ness we usually associate with them, and those gold studded jackets... I thought of the studded sandals my korean mother's friends would wear on a night out to karaoke. They always felt right to me as a child and they feel right to me now. It's a feeling I couldn't thank Tisci enough for to see THAT kind of sensibility out on the open and beautifully displayed. He'd do those women proud.

Tisci had it all right with this collection. He presented new ideas with the high waists, the austere ornamentation, the contrast of sensual and sleek. And he did it without alluding to anything beyond his means, there weren't any heavy handed historical references or bravado claims on the future. He did what was timely, what was right, what was simply chic.

I don't think there's any other designer who has more of a handle on what "chic" is. And isn't that what Givenchy is all about?

yeah riccardo is the most exciting designer in fashion right now you really have no idea what he will do next but if you notice 2 seasons after he does it it pops up in other collections.
