Didn’t Prada do this exact same campaign concept of actor doing characters this season? Except they had an actual ACTOR as opposed to some wannabe
Indeed very strange because the white dress is AW25 but the rest are not. Plus it's far too early to be announcing AW campaigns still...so maybe this is some kind of "preview" marketing just to keep the brand in the conversation for the next few months?Isn't it the pre-fall campaign, tho?
Sorry but this is, AT BEST, just a subjective opinion. At worst, it's delusional HATERATION.Her first show was enough already with, in order:
- First look: fishnet bodysuit with an oversized GIVENCHY PARIS logo plastered on it
- A bunch of Alaia copycat of bodycon fishnet dresses
- Latex Givenchy logo ankle booties
- Sloppy tailoring
- Cringe looks (the compact powder applique dress)
- The final gown that looked a reject from a Giambattista Valli tulle's overload collection
Stop trying to make Sarah happen. Her biggest skill was the impeccable sharp tailoring and the tweaking of the conventional suit and she failed miserably in translating these skills into her Givenchy vision. If Clare gave us Zara with her Givenchy debut, Sarah gave us Shein version of Alaia and Valli.

When she started in 2010, McQueen’s annual sales were under €100 million. By 2022, revenue had risen to €830 million. The McQueen brand has NEVER been as commercially successful and recognizable as it has been under Burton, and is now absolutely one of the Kering portfolio's rising stars. Still dwarfed by juggernauts like Gucci and YSL of course, but for better or for worse, Sarah already "happened" 15 years ago. She's securely established herself as a key player in the industry and is not going anywhere.
But I totally agree with @Avonlea that she's just a poor Creative Director. She seems to excel with the nitty-gritty of design, but lacks the originality and vision to really create a memorable legacy at any given house. It's probably why she's so much more COMPLICIT than Lee was with corporate strategy. She has less to fight for.

I was just saying that it's ridiculous to make the claim that she hasn't "happened" like she's some kind of unseasoned noob still looking to get a foothold in the industry. The numbers are on her side. People bought her McQueen. this does not make her more special or immune to critic on many details of her first Givenchy out put, that even for her standards was below standard
to list Sarah´s objective weakness makes one delusional/hateration i dont get this ?
past succes is no guarantee for future succes or a seat at the table of relevance of your creative output .....see current Valentino or new Burbberry etc your only as good as your last collection´s .....its fashion.

She didnt bank on or continue someone elses legacy at mcqueen, she made the codes her own, gave the mcqueen girl an image and it sold. Even if some thought "she wasnt mcqueen enough". Creatively, Mcqueen the man will always be superior to many designers from the past or today, turning that into something commercial like what burton did cannot happen from someone who has no vision. I never felt that her Mcqueen was not "mcqueen" enough, it always had the codes of the house. but she is close to VV at Chanel in a way that she kept things going and sold to a certain point but her Mc Queen was quite soulless and just good tailoring i agree but image of the house was bland.
She is not in the top 10 names of last 10 years even on industry people minds i think thats more the point some people share here in regards to her.
Correct. And I don't think she ever will. Nor do I think she necessarily cares. The issue is her kind is becoming the standard. These kinds of autopilot designers who are technically excellent, but could be interchanged with AI.I dont think she made a big lasting impact sadly

I think her vision was a very watered down, cheesy and “commercial” version of McQueen himself, with barely no soul.p.s. im so confused why people would think she had no vision at all at mcqueen. Is my idea of vision different from other people? Where did she fail to show her vision for mcqueen?
she did, unfortunately. in palm royale with kristen wiig. in which she proved that she indeed is not a natural actress.funny thing is KAIA is not even a actress as far as i know she did not play in anything yet the concept was actor relationship with film director
