It looks energetic, fresh and quite desirable. I didn't feel the same with the runway show. Karolin looks TERRIFIC, dear lord what a great model she is.
The black guy stole the spotlight here. His movement and expression have a sense of flamboyance and dynamism that elevates this campaign. What’s his name btw?
I also love the casting of Veronika Kunz here. This second coming of Amber Valletta makes the perfect muse for CWK’s Givenchy and it’s just so refreshing to see a sophisticated-looking model that hasn’s been overexposed yet in any blue chip, HF campaign. I love my Rianne and Imaan, but let’s face it they’re too ubiquitous.
Concept-wise, I wish it wasn’t in black and white again though. The collection has a rather exquisite color palette imo. Let’s just leave the B&W every season to Hedi and Vaccarello’s Saint Celine~.
A bit of a weird one, especially coming from Meisel here. The men's shots are a bit stronger overall, although I like the women's casting, Veronika is very much the Iris/Saskia of this era but her printwork is always good.
The leather couches are really a bit gross though, must say.
This campaign is as interesting as an interview with Clare Waight Keller! Not Meisel's fault, because this is what they want. Crude, commercial campaigns with the pieces in full view, but with a glossy touch. Still a snoozefest. Same goes for the cast, especially the males.
Good luck selling those awful sneakers...
And Givenchy is doing Chanel knockoffs too?
I’m trying to understand her contribution to the brand beyond dressing Meghan.
A beautiful campaign with literally not one desirable product. Bravo!
The execs must be bargaining on that paying off for her the way it did for Sarah Burton (or did it?) It's cute and it's a great accomplishment, but it's time to move on.
Besides, what she's doing with Meghan is very far removed from what Givenchy should be about, or even the above!
