Gladiator Sandals

well if they look good on u...but the once ive seen so far...they all look a bit silly IMO

I tried on the nine west gladiators and wasn't too taken up with the quality. The buckles were flimsy and leather looks cheap. So, i didn't end up getting them. I must say the style was nice!

I really like the general look but I have super short legs so I can't rock too much of an ankle strap. My new favorite pair were these from Aldo. Thirty dollars and three awesome colors (I have the brown, but am seriously considering the black too).

jelly,

i have secretely also been contemplating the FIT FLOPs in the gladiator style as the others are  but need to see them IRL to decide i think..

Im looking for a pair of gladiator sandals that suit me, but a lot of the high street versions are made from really hard plastic and dont look comfortable at all. It must be made from real leather straps and not cheap and plastic.

I'm going to go try on these three this week. All by Jeffrey Campbell.

^sorry but i think those are :yuk:

i love the last 2 in casaanova's post!

Death to the gladiator sandals! They were best meant for the great gods, goddesses, and other humans in Greek Mythology... not the 21st Century. Never seen a pair I liked. EVER. Straps just too big and nowhere in the way of stylish. I don't like sandals that go above the knees with straps galore. Only exception are any sandals with an ankle straps. I'm sorry. Just not feeling these sandals even if I were a lady. Not fabulous, not stylish, not cute, just horrid. They're best left to runway models and Greek Mythology. Now if you'll excuse me, Athena wants her gladiator sandals back... as does Homer, Zeus, Hera, Hades, Persephone, Ares, Artemis, Dionysus, Orpheus, Hermes...

^ John M, what was the point of posting that whole paragraph just to say that you don't get it/don't think people should wear them? I've read a few of your posts like that, you don't seem to interact with the discussion going on, just post your opinion and go away. And I think 'not fabulous, stylish, just horrid' is so subjective and not constructive it's bordering on the 'if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it' rule. I know you don't mean to be rude, but I think popping into a thread just to act as some unqualified arbiter of fashion and dismissing the whole thing as 'horrid' is a bit rich.

I bought the ASOS etro knockoffs and love them (the studded greigy-purple ones) but I'm finding it so hard to pair them with outfits without it looking OTT. So far I've only really made them work with plain little black and little grey summer dresses. Any ideas?

I have the chanel knockoffs on their way from urbanog and am very excited about them, for some reason I'm finding it much easier to come up with outfits for these. I just hope they don't go over the cool/ridiculous line on me.

^^I agree with you wholeheartedly. I don't understand why some people have to "pop in" on a discussion just to leave negative remarks. That IMHO is bad taste!

Kriszti--i love your new purchase!

Got these in the mail today and I am surprisingly happy with them, they are much better in person....will take pix wearing them soon
