I saw them in Glasgow last Monday. It was amazing. When they performed Utopia the lights made it even more dramatic and Alison looked like a goddess. And she played with the theremin between her legs during Train
They performed all the songs from Seventh Tree (including an extended version of Little Bird), Paper Bag, Utopia, U never know, Number 1, Ooh la la, Strict Machine (the extended version) and Train. What I didn't like was that the y finished with Some People... not a good ending (and I absolutely loathe that song now, lol).
gucci...now that's an interesting and contradictory pairing,if i do say so myself. alison, will and the band in their one-off pierrot costumes versus the slick hugh luxe of gucci...hmmmm. unless they're performing only stuff from supernature? should be a good performance though....and really, who cares about the gucci aspects when they're going to be there?
she brought back the theremin! yes....naughty theremin action...hehehe
personally i still find the alison playing the wonderous melodica one of the most enchanting. has she been playing it at any of the other performances? she played it for their performance of paper bag on KCRW and i was excited to hear it again.
& sadly i think the gucci thing is a rumour. i agree, scott, quite an interesting mash up seeing as they are into the whole seventh tree thing now - if this would have been for the gucci resort show 2006 & goldfrapp was performing - it would have been perfection. i can only imagine...
im so glad that you had such a lovely time Ksanochka Vanmra! did you manage any photos?
she still still sounds so incredible with her operatics! you could tell initially that she hadn't done it in a while but once she got into and hit some of those notes...just pure perfection.
