What a terrible episode. What happened to this show? haha. I miss season 1.

I think all the caracters lost their essence, I still watching every week tho
So if Dan and Blair are together, then Chuck and Serena would be a great couple!

Logically...Ivy spent all that time with Cece out of the goodness of her heart, not because she wanted her money? But in GG world it was probably an elaborate plan to bring Carol and Lily together.

Yeah Ed Westwick is really failing in the accent department. And don't worry you're not the only one sick of Chuck. Even Ed hates him and always speaks negatively about the character, Chuck's actions towards Blair, and the show. (And Ed is apparently is a Dair shipper based on his recent comments made with Penn Badgley when they were discussing with an interviewer who Blair should end up with.)

I'm watching it until the Dair arc ends. Although Norman Buckley keeps putting out awesome tweets. And despite my best efforts, Buckley is pulling me back in with his flawless commentary on the show and to fans on twitter.

I'm hearing rumors Jack is going to be back on the show.

I think it's just how they air tv shows in the US. They have to make shows last up until May, hence the breaks.

^ Yes, but this is much worse than the other networks! I have read that the people who run the CW Network are far from highly respected within the industry... it seems very counter-productive to take what was their flagship show, constantly mess up the schedule giving everyone an understandable chance to lose interest, and then endlessly mention how ratings aren't good! I mean, what would you expect!!?

Gossip Girl fans will be disappointed to learn that the show will likely end after a shortened sixth season. Sources close to the show blame falling ratings for the show's demise.
TheWrap.com explains that the show will return for a shortened season similar to the CW drama, One Tree Hill, did for its last season. The site claims to have gotten the news from a source that is "close to production."The show's ratings have steadily been declining over the course of season 5, with current ratings averaging a measly 1.7 million viewers—down from 2.35 million in the show's first season.
Fans have likely been turned off by the show's lack of drama. The fifth season has been quite stale, with the same storylines being replayed repeatedly, with only the key roles being changed. Whether it's a Blair/Chuck/Louis love triangle or a Blair/Dan/Chuck love triangle, it's really the same story, isn't it?
The show seems to have been on a downward spiral since the crew finished high school. It seems as if the show's creators had no real "adult plans" for the characters, and fans tired of the high school type drama played out every week on the show.
TheWrap.com thinks the renewal has less to do with finishing the story, but more to do with finishing contracts. The show's big stars are all under contract for another season and a short season 6 will spare the network the cost of severing ties.
