I very much like well-done Gothic style clothing, myself. Good goth clothing involves very rich materials and creative cutting and a lot more detail than you get in most mainstream fashion. I love the sort of Victorian + Punk aesthetic.
What I can do without is the typical Goth melodrama and attitude. If more goths just dressed crazy and listened to Industrial music, I'd squee loudly and go to a lot more Goth Night dances, but since a lot of them are overly melodramatic suckers who never outgrew teenaged angst, and get hung up on the whole "Vampyres & Darke Magick" schtik, I tend to tip-toe around the fringes of such events and people-watch until my eyes bulge.
