Greenday are one of my favourite bands of all time and billie joe armstrong (lead singer) is just pure sex.

First of all I don't see the relation btwn Billie Joe and pure sex because I just find him totally NON hot.... Sorry....... And I think their music is total ****.

^ Yeah I'm pretty sure it is Green Day.My brother loves 'em and I think American Idiot is a good album but their earlier stuff is beyond awful,and no I really don't think Billie Joe is pure sex!

i used to like them when i was a pre-teen, dookie, godzilla era and all that, i stopped liking them because i grew up, natural process B) , but i understand it's the kind of music one has to like at certain point. not ashamed to confess i was a fan but i feel deeply outraged when my now pre-teen cousins ask me if i know what green day is... like i'm that old.

american idiot - great album .. much better than their last couple.
I think that they have grown up in their music. great musicians and great LIVE! I don't think it's teen music at all. I think it's good for all ages. It's just that many new bands want to be like them. Many of them even try to sound like them. But green day is original. They've been around for some time. They're a pop-punk band and they stick to that this latest album. If you want something teenyboppers..try simple plan or good charlotte. If green day is teen-punkish, i would like to know which band is not?

hm I'm not a fan . I saw them at Rock Werchter this summer their preformance was great! But then i saw them on Live Aid just doing the exact same thing and making the exact jokes.What I like about them is their opinion about politics(sometimes).

i disagree, while it's true their music can be liked by any person of any age (nostalgic reasons, i like to think ), i dont think American idiot is better than their previous work or that they've grown up in their music. i remember when Warning was released, it was their original sound..but taken to a dull extent, just like Offspring has done recently..it was just terrible and i thought 'well, green day is really over', and i guess they thought so as well, but what better way to resurrect from the ashes than making an album about what's cool at the moment? emo. and that's the genre they're going for right now. it's really awful, the sound, the lyrics...it has nothing to do with say, Dookie, which was slightly wise and less whiner than American Idiot.

they could just stick to their sound and update it, instead of selling bigoted lyrics only a massive 13 year-old crowd can feel identified with.
but well, i shouldnt really complain cause that isnt an issue anymore, American Idiot even got them a Grammy, which must be important for some bands.



side note: Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a terrible song, Avril lavigne could sing it and no one would deny she wrote it. and then, you know..Avril lavigne, simple plan..My chemical romance..there isnt really a difference other than the voice ...and the amount of makeup of course

dookie was a good album when it came out but it doesn't seem that they've progressed much musicaly since then. now they just really bore/anoy me.

Sorry shouldve been more clearer..i was trying to say their last album "warning" i really didn't like cause i feel like they were trying to be someone else. i did say they're pop-punk. popular demands .. to sell more records of course. they have to make their music appeal to peoples ears. for those who are easy listeners. i'm 20 and i can relate to it. although i can't relate to some other new bands out there on the market. but anyway, i like the music, i think it's great. It's just my personal taste. some may agree w/ me some may not but it's our own opinions.
