i just glimpsed her when there was a scene out of g.w. pabst's "die freudlose gasse" (i don't know the international title.) shown during a course at university, and after a minute of silence, the prof said "ah.. greta garbo."

The international title is 'The Joyless Street' or 'The Street of Sorrow' (according to imdb.com); I haven't seen it.
