I love Alessandro Michele's Gucci, so i'm in love with his Gucci Pre-Fall 18.
The sales are talking for him , the sales are growing, the people love Michele's Gucci, me too. :D

same old, same old... But it looks slightly less ridiculous / ugly / tacky than usual, i guess. Anyway the setting (my favorite neighborhood in Rome) vastly overshadows the dresses, and that's never a good sign

Love it! He's consistency with this direction alone should be applauded. I keep thinking he'll muck it up, but the man comes through each time.
I've seen enough of puffers to last me a decade - maxi, cropped, boleros, you name it. But the patterned ones here look stunning. And I'm in love with his hem lengths.

Another great collection!

The puffer is really gorgeous, perfect length, i wanted /need puffer but i didn't find till now, they are all looking good only on the photos, but with Gucci you are saved, their items looks in reality better that on the photos .
Alessandro Michele succeed with every collection and every collaboration, from 2015, from first look he sent on the runway.
And now there are so many pieces for every taste. Every season new is also not so good, i prefer Michele's same with touch of new details and new pieces, see the logo t-shirt from Cruise 17 is in Pre-Fall 18. Hope they will be not sold out , i need a new one :wink:

@ Mistress_f , Rome is so beautiful, it is not difficult to overshadow the dresses.

And to think that Karl is being criticized every season to do the "same thing" after 30 years...
It's good to be Michele, you can do the same thing over and over again and nobody would complain. And the "it sells" thing can be applied to Chanel also...

As for the collection, i really love the blue pantsuit, the liquid red gown and the green, blue and white coat. Those pieces are perfect.

Michele is a good designer and i think that he has a lot more culture than someone like Demna but i hate that he is relying so much on the logos. Let's be honest, it might be fun and ironic on the lookbook, it looks beyond tacky on people IRL.

I'm starting to really not care about his Gucci overtime. I think it need to be edited and well styled in order to create an excitment. I've bought more Gucci RTW in 2 years than i've ever bought since Tom Ford left but it's more about tailored pieces and shirts/blouses.

His Gucci is doing great but i want more from him.

I started to buy only Michele's Gucci and once i started i can't stop anymore, there are so many similar items but always he put new details and it gives me the feeling "i need it" . His tailored pieces are really gorgeous. Many blouses are real art.
He found this "success formula" so will they risk and make something another? Same Karl, he does and does and we love and we want buy.
Demna is not a designer, imo. His Vetements is like simple streetwear with Vetements label and expensive price, same about his Balenciaga, sweatshirts with Balenciaga on the back... or same and same socks-boots? The leather jackets are ok but there were 2 of them.
Sincerely, if i could buy everything i want i would buy clothes (and the rest ) Michele's Gucci and Karl's Chanel. Everything they do is beautiful.

I think that's it, his charm, I mean. He doesn't just add new appliques to the same silhouette, it's literally a deviation while somehow staying true to his form. I liked the quilted pinafore length cheongsams last winter, this time there's the patterned puffers. For me that's masterful, not monotonous.
I think most of his critics are taken aback by the literal presentation of his collections. Understandably so, but once you step into the store it's a different story.

But even if the clothes were trite, which it isn't, Michele and Luchford's creative contribution to fashion is immeasurable and on another level.

The collections are less ridiculuous this time and Dio Mio I looooove the setting...but it complements well with the collections

If you strip away the tacky flora and fauna prints and bells and whistles there is some really great tailoring here, the best pieces are the simplest, the blue pant suit, checkered dress, the black pantsuit with the hat and the velvet purple dress.

There are surprisingly some really nice pieces within this pretty mundane collection.
His biggest problem is that he's a one trick pony.
EVERY collection he's done blends into one another.
At least Frida produced collections with various ideas and themes even if some of the collections were big fails. At least she tried.
This guy has used the same 'Librarian chic' theme for his entire tenure.

C'mon dude. DO. SOMETHING!!!

You can clearly tell he's a painter, not an artist. That's why sales I guess are doing well. It appeals to the masses like Zara or Topshop just more expensive.

It's slightly getting less ugly, but I still hate Gucci. (still many ugly things to see here)
