Gucci S/S 2025 Milan

*** Missy Tweed mentioned last week lol

Any ways the fun begins this guy has a A....hole reputation at LV and Prada .......will be popcorn season!!!!!!!! from Jan 2025.

Someone will be fired for sure now đź«Ł
This means Sabato is out and Stefano's ex Fabio Zambernardi from Prada is in as the new creative director. What a weird couple anyway: Cantino looks like the closeted gay all business and money while Fabio is the opposite: all dragged and glammed up...

lmao I’m shocked by the comments about Frida. She was the female version of Sabato but even cheaper.
You're kidding right? At least Frida had a distinctive point of view and delivered a fashion proposal. From Sabato we had to wait 3 runway shows to get a fashion proposition different than "COS + Zara with Chanel Price tag"

He was a closeted gay at Prada dating a female co worker at the start and started to date Fabio as he rose through the ranks up ....and it worked out well as they both managed both ends of Prada and Miu Miu from creative and communication. like a gay version of Miuccia and Bertelli.

He is known to be into power and control not creativity as at LV the teams where happy he left and its know he was blocking projects or trying to shut down popular project like the LV city guides etc.

Miss tweed also mentioned he was known to try to intimidate press members like herself as well.

Nice snakepit at Gucci now with at least 4 ex prada people in the top management :-)

i wrote : her time is exactly like what Ancora is now ZARA not more cheaper !! but exactly in context both are ZARA.

cheap is Philipp Plein is level below..... got to safe room for nuances in low hanging fruit design talents.

Yes, 100%, I got from the beginning what you meant, I remember everybody at the time saying it was like Zara, and it actually was.

For me her collections were very cheap… like super basic for the time, like overpriced fast fashion. She was a kind of MGC, zero skills. Kind of avant garde if we see it that way.

For me PP is like Versace… it’s tacky and cheap. Reggeaton singers and soccer players clothes.

ohh no poor Donatella .........Versace has many few levels up on PP :-) it has history and provenance and cultural weigh, nonetheless they have tacky pop moments i agree but PP is really a copy of any brand and no skill in cut and design etc etc etc

honestly it doesn't matter type of group that wears it as any brand can be tacky: hermes loro piana chanel etc even rich and high society have tacky parts .

“Trendy is the last stage before Tacky” – Karl Lagerfeld .........i agree with this as its in stages and context

Her pants!
They never favored any woman and they clearly never favored any man!
I have to admit that FW2014 was a fantastic collection. A modern rendition of that Gucci FW1995 (that I never liked) collection.
But Frida was fantastic with accessories. She was too one dimensional as a designer.

She was fan of the jodhpur shapes for pants, wasn't she?

@PDFSD , indeed, Versace is on another whole level, but I find it tacky as well. And yeah, every brand has their tacky things and might look tacky depending on who wears it... For me the tackiest brand atm, I am sorry, is Hermès (RTW aside). I just can't tolerate a person with a Birkin or a Kelly, it's the epitome of no class in 2024 (god knows how much I loved the Kelly when I was young).

And that sentence by Karl is so spot on, as everything he said. Today I dreamt of him. I touched one of his real sketches the other day and I think I have his spirit in me or something because he can't go away of my mind.

Karl is literally the only person that cannot be replace. He was kind of a “compass” for fashion and so funny. His interviews were witty. It’s sad people like him also have to die.

Without him fashion is so weird.

I miss KL quick one liners even the bad ones , now we only have Ralph Rucci to say it like it is unfiltered lol
Karl was very cynical in a way but he played the game right, totally understood the industry and his environment and took only what benefited him…
As funny as Ralph Rucci statements are, there’s an air of bitterness (similar to Azzedine comments towards Wintour) that makes it a bit cringe.
I don’t know, I expect a little bit more self awareness from someone who lost his brand as it original inception.

Azzedine can be as bitchy as he like because he is a master at his job and non bullshitter and i do think Anna is more political in games and pulling the strings and with not always rightful/fair outcome...so for people like Azzedine or Hedi they don't bow down to everyone just because of powerful institutions (condenasty) they know they are good at what they do and i think its right also to have standards and stand for something ban people or make public statements etc .

MR Rucci i honestly don't follow only what people post here it's funny i don't read much into him other than a laugh it seems he just want respect to be asked to do an prestigious house i get it but also self awareness is important lol

Azzedine comments on Anna felt bitter, unclassy and unnecessary…
At the end, he won. Without the support of US Vogue, he has maintained a success, remained a top seller at Barney’s and was able to be totally independent from the power of the press so his comment wasn’t up to the man he is.
While I’m 50/50 on the reason of their beef, for me his success was his best revenge.

Personally, I never had any issues in the political games Anna played in the industry. It was simply logical and inevitable. I had more issues with the pages of her magazine and how the choices she made in her magazine accelerated the demise of the press (even though she was pragmatic).

The other day I was catching up on watching all the shows and decided to give this one a try, hoping it would at least be more interesting in motion. Unfortunately, it turned out to be incredibly tedious and disappointing. His first collection, though not particularly strong, at least featured good music and pacing, making it actually enjoyable to watch. I would be lying if I said I haven't watched Ancora several times. This latest show, however, missed the mark entirely and fell flat in every aspect. I don't plan on revisiting it anytime soon, and I am not looking forward to seeing it in print. Hopefully he'll get the Axe before a campaign is produced. Fingers crossed!

Hopefully they will do it soon in nov/dec

funny is they are also planning to do co ed shows in 2025 mens with woman together just like new Valentino, but i feel this is more for budget reasons than creativity.
