Gwyneth Paltrow

The quotes are legit, she said it, and then even repeated ,and elaborated on how much it sucked in the radio interview with the Australian chat hosts.

Its so strange she would make these statements publicly, i mean the whole interview is weird, because she say she is a bit drunk. I say stay at home if you dont enjoy the Ball, its not the first time she was there. It doesnt help her reputation at all, but at least she is honest, which we cant say for many celebs in the PR run Hollywood!

Yeah I found out yesterday it was legit and my first thought was "What an idiot". It is really strange because most of the time her comments are taking out of contents and always spun to make her look like a b*tch so to see that its actually on tape is not great as a fan.

It's disappointing that she slagged off the Gala but I don't think it has anything to do with Anna just that she just didn't enjoy it. She said once before she was never going to a fashion show again but yet a few years later she was at the Burberry show and then Stella's.

I wouldn't have enjoyed having to wear that new Valentino dress either especially when Anne got to wear vintage.

I might be over-dramatizing it, but I wonder if this is how Truman Capote's decent into persona non grata-dum was.

Oh pleez. WE might not know why she said it but I'll bet you she does. She's been in the business since she was born, knows all the players involved and knows PRECISELY what she was doing when she said it.
Point in fact, in the Australian interview, she went out of her way to say it again. She could have avoided the question but she went for it, deliberately.
Our girl had a plan.

^Agreed. This was a calculated move.

I wonder if Kim K had anything to do with her rant. She went to the MET gala last year and didn't have negative things to say about it.

Why not? The Met gala itself is a pretentious event.
Reminds me of how the Crillon Ball now basically allows anyone with a huge pile of money to come. The Met was always more democratic but it too had invitation standards.

I think it's time to move on...

Few days ago saw her interview on The Conversation, I really liked it. Anyone seen it?

^ That's great. Thanks for the info =)

Chloë Sevigny on Gwyneth Paltrow's Met Gala Complaints:

Maybe her sleeves were too tight. If you’re in a dress where you can’t breathe, then you’re not comfortable. I found that out the hard way after going five or six times. It's more important to be really comfortable in your dress. That was a big thing with Proenza Schouler, they made my dress this year. I said, 'I have to be able to lift my arms and move them around.'

I think it depends on what table you’re at, and who you’re with, and obviously your attitude. But it’s a lot of hoopla over not a lot. Everybody thinks it’s so much pressure, and you do the carpet and it’s such a big deal, and it’s just a museum fund-raiser, you know? But you have to wear comfortable shoes and an outfit you can be okay in.

Interesting. To me Chloe didn't look like she was having a good time at the Gala either. I haven't seen one pic of her smiling.

I still think her met dress would've been 10 times better with shorter sleeves.

She should have worn that Iron Man red carpet dress to the Met Gala since it would have gone well with the theme "From Punk to Couture."

Yeah I usually enjoy these entries but after knowing that she didn't enjoy herself at the Gala I don't get why she did the post. I do like the meaning behind choosing the dress even though I don't like it -

We asked stylist Elizabeth Saltzman to tell us about the inspiration for the dress I wore:

“When I first started to research the punk theme, I visited a neighbor of mine who’d been in the music business and had a collection of all her punk pieces from the past. She had this one big pink ball-gown skirt that I immediately took to. In thinking about what Gwyneth could wear, I didn’t want her to show up in a costume. So this look is all about anarchy – truly going against the grain and not wearing what everyone expects. That’s about as punk as you can get, which is why the dynamic duo, Pierpaolo and Maria of Valentino, made so much sense. Their clothes are so pretty...”

the Saltzmann explanation makes no sense whatsoever. I mean the dress is OK and all but it´s not punk or punk evoking. Anarchy? Not wearing what everyone expects? It´s precisely what GP would wear to a gala.
It´s OK, whatever, you can wear whatever you want but the explanation about the "inspiration" is just nonsensical.

I don't take really seriously those quotes. I just enjoy too much the 'behind the scenes' of these things. That's why I used to like 'The Rachel Zoe Project'. Hated the drama, hated the 'she said... I said', but overall I enjoyed the fashion ^_^
