and i wonder if she'll ever *seriously* act again?
i see she's scheduled to do a biopic on picasso and doris maar this year.

She's hardly the first choice for *serious* acting jobs in her age group.

true ^ but why is that? she's an oscar winning actress and through the 90s until around 2005 she seemed to put acting first, and then eventually everything changed - marriage, kids, london, etc. but now that she's back in the usa, her kids are older, and she's not married, perhaps she could take some riskier roles, maybe some indie cinema? i'd like to see how she'd make out.

Personally I think she can actually hold her own in indies, quite liked her in Running with Scissors and Two Lovers. She just needs to do more, and stop taking such long breaks.

Not sure exactly what their arrangement is, but the divorce could make things more difficult ... but I agree, I'd like to see her do more.

I do wonder that Gywneth hasn't done more movies more since her kids are older, and she's relocated back to the US. Plus, she still has the buzz from the Iron Man trilogy that she could use to get more roles.

At any rate, she does have the good example of her mother -- who is still working steadily and quietly -- and is an example of an older still successful in maintaining her career despite kids, marriage, etc.

i love blythe! always have. she's such a class act, and apparently her new film is very good.

gywneth should definitely look to her mom as a role model. unfortunately i think she is more hung up on other, more superficial, things than the art of acting. : / but i keep hoping she'll prove me wrong.
