I'm not sure if I would call four covers by the likes of Self Service, i-D, Vogue Russia, and Vogue Korea (both Vogues in the same month), a Meisel editorial in Vogue Italia, a Meisel debut in American Vogue, and an upcoming fragrance campaign and commercial with Dior Addict "crashing". She walked for a smaller number of shows, yes, but all were very respected brands and shows she's walked for in the past. If we're going by runway stats - where was Hailey?

I think that comparing Daphne and Hailey is inevitable seeing as though they are close in age, and both have blonde hair and big lips. The fashion industry and fans alike are always comparing the girls that Lara Stone paved the way for, so to speak. Daphne and Hailey may have similar features, but they're very different. Hailey appeals more to the commercial market and Daphne high fashion, though it's evident that they can do both. I think that calling Hailey a "better model" is a normative statement, just as me saying Daphne is better. Maybe we should stick to the numbers.

Well personally I think it is unfair that someone with little knowledge of fashion, has Vogue covers and super editorials. Hailey loves fashion, she before becoming a model, knew who was Steven Meisel and Miuccia Prada for example... And that's what I love about her, she truly loves fashion.

I do think that Hailey does look a bit like Daphne in the editorial, but mainly because of the bleached brows and heavy makeup that are so commonly seen on Daphne. I don't like the editorial that much due to the brows and makeup, but just because she sort of looks like Daphne there doesn't mean that anyone's insulting Daphne or Hailey. Please, let this be the end of comparisons between them.

On a side note, it's nice that Hailey likes fashion so much. I really enjoy following her tumblr and seeing where her interests lie.

I guess that's where we differ then. I think that quality work should go to quality models. That's not to say that Hailey isn't a good model, but I don't think her "knowledge" or interest in the fashion industry should secure her any work as a model. It should be about talent and beauty.

I don't think anybody was arguing, but I agree that we should drop this. It's clearly becoming more about opinions and preferences than it is talent.
