I'm 5' 2", size 4-5, average build. This will be my first designer bag.

I'm also considering MJ's Blake.

I'm wondering if some of you can help me. My mum is really set on getting me a good quality, designer bag for my birthday. I have no clue when it comes to designer bags, I've never owned one, don't even know where to get them from.

Can anyone suggest a medium-large sized bag leather bag? Something classic that could be worn for years, practical, as well as looking good with everything, I intend to get a lot of use. Her price range is probably up to £250, maybe a little more. This translates to around $500?

Thanks x

I think Mulberry has some in that price range and size range :] You can get them at John Lewis, House of Frazer, Sefridges, Harvey Nicks, etc...

Do you think the Chloe Paddington will last the 'test of time' lol?
Ok, so not a classic, but the leather and style etc are good enough to be carried around for the next few years? thanks.

does anyone know any laid-back, soft, stylish, large-ish black leather bags? Ive seen one from marc by marc jacobs, with pockets and in a really soft leather, but Im not sure yet:P price no more than 400$ (the marc.bmj is 428$)

its pretty nice, thanks!! usually not such a fan of contrast-stiches, but Ill really consider it:heart: looove the shape

~Angela~ I am not sure about that particular bag (not too visible in the pic) but it is from the CH line. I think they only have a few stores in the USA (I imagine one in NYC and one in LA?) but there should be a contact number on their website. Sorry I am not of much help!!

Recommendations, anyone?

I am thinking I could really use an affordable bag (doesn't have to be TOO affordable, it could be a name bag, but price IS a factor) that I can sling on my shoulder (with the handles, not an additional shoulderstrap). Mid-sized and probably brown or black, and can stand the test of use and time (durable and classic at least for a few years). I want to be able to wear it with a big variety of outfits... a very flexible bag.

One that I could use both to take out for a coffee or dinner and also to work (which is casual enough for nice jeans and nice tops).

I'm 25 and my style is casual subdued, but I tend to go too over-subdued, I mean I'm still in my 20's!! I tend to prefer things with some structure and don't really like contrast stitching.

Obviously, you're not psychic and you can't know exactly my personal tastes but even if your recommendation serves as a jumping-off point for me to learn more about a designer or bag style, I'd appreciate it!

PS. An example of a bag I love but could not afford would be a brown (or maroon or green or....) croc birkin :)

Banana republic has a sale on their Sandhurst bags. I ordered the Sandhurst simple shoulder bag for my mom, it is very much like my Kempton Simple shoulder bag, which I LOVE.

40% off for only like 2 or 3 more days... SANDHURST is the coupon code

I'm thinking about purchasing a bag from an american webpage and getting it send to a friends brothers home, who takes it home to norway for christmas.

But I really want to get a good deal, so do any of you know any good pages for purchasing handbags on the internet? :)

passerby, thank you for the recommendation.

I never even considered a bag with that shape or with chains on the straps, so thank you for expanding my thoughts on the matter. My impression is that this bag might be too formal for walking around in jeans and sneakers?

Hello! I'm looking for a suggestion or two! I love the 2 bags below but since I just bought a BR Sandhurst Saddle Bag (dark brown) and a Hayden-Harnett Lorca Flap Demi in luggage, I need to keep my costs down. The two bags below are in the $500 range. I'm hoping to find a nice red bag closer to $200. Is it possible? ^_^ Any ideas? Thanks so much!
