Harper’s Bazaar France December 2024/January 2025 : Laetitia Casta by Juergen Teller

Are the people responsible for this magazine brain dead? Why would anyone look at this dreadful image and think it's the perfect option for a cover? I just don't understand how a team of supposed professionals comes up with sh*t like this.
I think it's because they got to shoot with Juergen for the first time and agreed to give him complete freedom and as Tellerland goes re celebs: the more offputting the better, he especially loves doing that on the bigger magazines. They have few big photographers on their roster right now.
I don't like it when anyone loses their visual stamp in lieu of attention or to play the game, but it is what it is.
On the upside, at least US Vogue won't ever allow this.

I am still baffled that why 10 years ago I was such a fan of Teller’s work…
So was everyone else. He was so fresh 10 years ago. It's been a public purge for some time now, highly unpleasant.

Am I mistaken, or didn't Teller shoot last year's Dec/Jan issue with Charlotte Gainsbourg?

This shoot is not even ironically tragic. It’s just boring/dull/tragic. Everyone knows that Juergen Teller has always been as talented and good as the current wife he is with. Venetia Scott made him into something interesting, His second wife Sadie Coles gave him all the best and more refined ideas, and with the current wife Dovile, well, you get this sort of pictures. That’s all there is to Juergen Teller.
Period!

I unironically like this lol. Ended up purchasing a Valentino velvet dress after seeing the cover and editorials.

There are two more editorials in this issue and I especially like the one about haute couture.

Also got to say I love French Bazaar's layout design. Very chic and really pleasant to flip through.

Both of her covers for Harper's Bazaar France has been dreadful. She looked like a golem on her last one and now this pose.. my god... HELP!
million likes!what a crazy world we live in:rofl:

Hideous cover, and a dreadful issue. Such a shame, after a fairly strong year from Harper's Bazaar France. Must admit I'm not too impressed with the styling of Elodie David-Touboul either, and I am never an admirer of her contributions to French Bazaar.
