Chanel Eyewear F/W 2025.26 : Mathilda Gvarliani by David Sims

I don't understand why they keep doing separate photoshoots for eyewear campaigns when they could just shoot this during the RTW campaign shooting.
Waste of money unless a celebrity is involved.
But yeah, great to see a bunch of acetate with production cost of max 20 bucks being sold for 1k.

We have optical branches that have exclusive deals with Chanel to do their frames as prescription, with EssilorLuxottica you're looking at even more money which is ridiculous. I'm talking an additional $600 odd dollars if not more. You can't even view pricing online you have to go in store even though they're all made in the same factory. They have even allocated and trained "handlers" for the Chanel frames.

It's always so funny with frames because so many of the brands are actually under the same subsidiary. A lot of purists just think Chanel or Versace or Prada are making the frames themselves AND the optical lenses, pouring out the resin and dipping in the tints.

extremely low effort even in styling.....

this should be the minimum standard for eyewear ad at Chanel quality of light and some sort of concept attempt and care to details to make it luxury fashion;
