So Conde Nast stop giving exclusive contracts to star photographers?
Annie Leibovitz and Steven Meisel. When's the last time you saw a star photographer in any Vogue other than the occasional British edition? Those days are long gone.
I’m so lost. Can someone tell me when the original Harper’s Bazaar Italia ceased publication?
The 5 December issue is not a real debut for Italy, but it is a great return. Currently, 29 editions of Harper’s Bazaar are published around the world. In Italy, the magazine made it first appearance in January 1968 first as a bimonthly and then a monthly edition, and was immediately joined by a men's title (first called Derby and then Harper’s Bazaar Men).
The magazine, initially published under licence by Cesare E. Beltrami's Ediderby, was then conducted at length, through Edizioni SYDS, by Giuseppe della Schiava from 1990 to 1998 also President of the Italian Chamber of Fashion.
Publication then ceased in 1997 with the closing of the publishing house after almost 30 years of uninterrupted presence on the Italian market. Among the many collaborators of that long adventure, the art director Bob Krieger and the fashion editor Nando Miglio cannot but be remembered.
Post your covers.I’m so lost. Can someone tell me when the original Harper’s Bazaar Italia ceased publication? It was around for at least 4 decades. I think it’s odd they keep referring to it as a launch, when it’s really a relaunch. I know the original Italian edition existed in the 70s and 80s, I made its cover during that period. I know it existed in the 90’s. I’m just curious as to when it stopped rolling the presses. It was quite the glossy in my day and I would go so far as to say it was considered more prestigious that it’s Italian Vogue counterpart. It was a very very pure fashion magazine.
