Has anyone ever asked you if your designer bag was a fake??

if you rent a spy for 8 months then you could've bought your own..

anyway, i couldn't resist more fun from friis (therese - its truly an epidemic!):

i suspect that would be the "blenheim" on the left and "phoebe" on the right..

ohh that reminds me.. back in the day, i had bought a silly prada messenger and convinced my mum it was fake bc i didn't want her to know i spent my money on a plastic bag with a triangle on it.

That's so funny because I do that all the time. My parents would freak out if they knew how much I spent on bags (even though I'm a full-fledged adult living in a different country than them with my own apt, career, etc). So I always tell my mom my bags are fake or that I bought them second-hand at a thrift shop, she's so clueless :innocent:

To be honest. At this point, I assume all monogram Vuitton is fake, seriously. I just dont care. Either you're too tasteless to get a clue or your bag is fake...

   Yes, isn't it????
Imagine living among this, seeing 10 (or more!) of these every single day!!

Funny you posted more!!!
I must admit; yesterday when talking a walk for taking photos, I stopped by a store I've always looked at when driving by but never gone into, as I've seen some nice clothes in the windows...so I walked by, and behold.. A Friis "Paddington" hobo in the window!! I was kind of disappointed as this store is called "Something else" and it looked like cool designer clothes in the window seen from the car - but i was also kinda amused, so I actually took a picture of it with the intention of posting it here
I felt so weird standing there taking a picture of a window display and laughing to myself    an thinking, I need to show Pinky* this

Anyways, as I can't post the pic until my bf gets back with the transfering cable, why not contiune some more "fun from friis" - this time, "balenciagas"

ever since you posted the friis site in the mulberry thread, its been driving me nuts!

hee.. i'm imagining those girls saying, 'oh no no, this is an authentic friis!"

this one deserves a second mention.. its my favourite (the first i ever saw a photo of):

"the roxy"

 I think we need an official thread called "Fun from Friis"

I'm subscribing to this thread because it cracks me up. People where I am are so clueless about fashion, they wouldn't know a designer bag if they got beaten about the head with one. Hence they wouldn't carry fakes either, except for plastic Khao San Road "LV" bags

So I have never been asked whether I'm carrying a fake, because no-one has realised that a designer made a bag like mine in the first place.

An untapped market for Friis???

Balenciaga

ahhh, but if it is a Spanish name, then it would be SI not CH.

Cristobal Balenciaga was a Spaniard, so that is correct.

same thing here.. no one knows a designer made a bag like mine, they think Friis did it!

Yes, I have. I have a Speedy that people ask about a lot. I think it's rather annoying. Plus, I think the fakes are actually quite obvious if you know what to look for. The quality just isn't there.

A girl in one of my fashion design classes carried a fake Louis Vuitton Multicolor Speedy and bragged about how she bought it in Chicago --the bag only had 5 colors on it! We had to do presentations and I did mine on how to tell many of the fake, common Vuitton bags from the real ones. She never carried it again. I realize that it was kind of mean on my part, but that is just one of my pet peeves!:innocent:

that is sooooo mean! haha but its funny

im guilty of having a fake balenciaga bag :( but uhm...at least i knew that it was a fake when i bought it

i really like balenciaga bags but they're like 1000...i figured since it didn't have fake logos on it it was okay

whatever ...

I agree, there's just too many fakes out there and many people including myself have a hard time telling if it's fake or not especially the speedy I would hate to own a luis vuitton bag and have people guess if its a fake or not

Is it bad that I'm laughing extremely hard while reading this thread?

I've had a couple of people ask if my LV Damier Papillon is real. The first person was my mom  I was carrying it while visiting home one weekend, and she asked if it was real. I told her of course! She loves it and always asks when I'll let her borrow it. My cousin asked when she saw it for the first time when we got together to go shopping.

A few people have also asked about my Burberry bag. A little old lady in line behind me at Bath and Body Works asked if it was real. She was so cute because she said it very quietly, that I couldn't help but laugh

this is such a funny thread.

at the same time, fakes are beyond appalling to me...

people don't realize that hit bags occur once out of like every 100,000,000 bags designed.

you've got so many designers slaving away, sketching, prototyping, sampling, having their designs go through internal selection and external sales process, countersampling, selling, sourcing, production....

and even then people have to buy them and like them and create a fervor....i mean, for all these cheaters to come out of nowhere, take the ultimate shortcut and just copy the product at the point in time when only the designer/fashion company should be benefitting from the bag after so much work...it is SHOCKING to me.

Yes sir!!!!! :flower:

This thread cracks me up!!!! Good work everyone.....LOL.:p

As for asking someone, if your bag a fake? That's just bloody rude, especially if it's a stranger. I'd feel like asking them, are your boobs real?

Here's the pic I told you I took on my walk the other day..!
So this is the bag girls here will assume my paddy is a copy of. "Oh, is yours a Friis? No it isn't the same as mine"
