Luna is a real fashion girl! I love her! And I think like unlike a lot of clients, she has fun with fashion. It’s not only necessary about the status…

Karl used to say about how clients would cancel an order when a outfit was worn by a celebrity. I think this thread is the perfect illustration of why.
Those pieces shown on a model on a runway are just a perfect illustration of the vision of the designer. Those same pieces on a celebrity suddenly brought you back to reality and the comparison becomes unfair, even more when you aren’t sample size or particularly slim or when you don’t have a distinctive style.

I loved Mouna Ayoub because I loved her courage at the time because she committed to the vision of the designers. But ultimately, she doesn’t have the « best style ». She just wore fabulous clothes, much like the majority of clients in this thread.

When you look at Princess Caroline or Sheikha Mozah, two different style but there’s a style. When they wears Chanel, it becomes their own.

There are some fabulous clients in this thread too.

But so far, Luna is so much fun. Her style is flashy but she got the best pieces and has an eye for accessories. Her IG is a pure feast.

UPDATE for client 124.- America - US - Rachel Williams

She got married a few days ago and she wore 5 (FIVE!) Chanel Couture wedding dresses.

For the wedding she wore a long-sleeved baby pink number from the maison’s haute couture autumn/winter ’21/’22 collection.

She told Vogue Australia: “The after party dress, from Chanel haute couture spring/summer 2022, was originally a top,” she recalls. “We changed it from its original black to white, and the beading to pearls and crystals.”

Another dress, chosen for the rehearsal dinner, was plucked from Chanel haute couture spring/summer 2021: a long-sleeved, full-skirted coat dress that Rachel accessorised with a black hair bow.

A strapless silk ball gown, finished at the neckline with a structured bow and camellia, was “particularly special” to the bride as it was a collaboration with the maison. “Since my wedding dress was pink, I knew I needed a “moment in white” next,” Rachel explains. “They sent me a sketch, created a beautiful skirt to flow for my first dance, and created the most magical blue, glittering buttons in the back as my ‘something blue’.” The fifth look, meanwhile, which Rachel chose for her farewell dinner, needs no introduction. You’ll be familiar with the body-forward, chain-covered silhouette, debuted by Christy Turlington on the Chanel haute couture spring/summer 1992 runway, and later worn by Naomi Campbell, Penélope Cruz in Broken Embraces, and Lily Rose Depp at the 2019 Met Gala.

“We reimagined this dress for a bride, changing the fabric to white and the chains to pearls,” Rachel shares. “They even created the necklace and bracelets to match. I will be forever grateful to my friends at Chanel for creating this absolutely striking piece. We really had fun with this one.”

^^
It’s a pity she didn’t choose better shoes…

^^^ Nevermind the shoes Lola-- the retouching on her entire face and body looks like she's made of soft wax. Hilarious.

I take it Vivian Liu Ching is just some rich girl on Insta, but the normalizing of flexing HC purchases on socials is just so cheap. And all the wealth in the world can’t wash that cheapness away.

[BGCOLOR=rgb(245, 245, 245)]You know they don’t look better in Dior either lol[/BGCOLOR]
In Galliano’s Dior, no less.

I wouldn’t say these women look bad per se…not as bad as this thread makes them out to be. I’m sure they look perfectly fine in real life. I just don’t think these pics necessarily capture them at a flattering moment. But I’m typing this while wearing a 4 year old jean jacket from Uniqlo, so who am I to say?

Rachel just looks ok, but for the amount of money(five chanel outfits!) she could have done much better! I understand the prestige of chanel, but her Viard bridal gown makes me feel that the Olivier T one from the previous page of this thread is far superior and more charming in terms of design.

I think Karls final decade of work is his most futuristic.
That era was quite experimental, almost Fendi-like at times. The late 00s/10s is definitely my favourite era from Karl's Chanel, or Chanel in general.

That dress on Anja is such an easy shape. I would have had that made in 3 versions already if I was a client!

Too bad Janet had to wear those pieces next to her « frumpy suits wearing » husband. He could have made an effort! Anderson and Sheppard, Ralph Lauren purple line, Ciffonelli, Tom Ford…He has the money for the options!

Her posture leaves a lot to be desired in those pieces as well

Those same pieces on a celebrity suddenly brought you back to reality and the comparison becomes unfair, even more when you aren’t sample size or particularly slim or when you don’t have a distinctive style.
Remember that documentary from forever ago ('the secret world of haute couture' or something like that) and how Daphne was like 'if I learn a celebrity wants it, I DON'T WANT IT' (but with this tone as if celebrities gave you an infectious disease)..? I was younger at the time and I remember thinking 'yeah! that's the ruthless spirit! preserve fashion at all costs!' lol. Years on, looking at the compilation in this thread and having been exposed to plenty of ultra wealthy people in real life by now... I've completely changed my mind.

There's a 'brand' and a profession that comes before any engagement with fashion for most celebrities that do acting for a living, and a deep knowledge of what their bodies can and cannot do, and that makes their choices perhaps less genuine, but also more studied and carefully put together so that the real 'brand' a piece is meant to embellish (aka. themselves!) is never compromised and always elevated and on duty, selling some illusion that matches that of fashion.. which is beautifying. When wearing couture is so ordinary to you and something you feel entitled to and clearly only choose because its restricted for nearly everyone, but you're not thinking of your own looks, or even have an opinion even though you're clearly in the public eye to some degree (otherwise we wouldn't have pictures here), so you just put that thing on, hoping that plus the last name/tax bracket does all the talking, without giving posture/exercise/strong and weak areas a single thought... you get the grotesque, ill-fitted, clown-ish, awkward and often delusional numbers that are from start to finish in this thread. They might demand exclusivity and yet they make HC look like Shein, while someone like Cate Blanchett can wear Shein and make it look like HC.

that was a read.

i thought the same. She only wore that chanel number to the glaad awards bc she knew everyone could tell its expensive. Quite a victim. No wonder Karl said he doesnt meet every client.
