Yes. The fact that Heather's story finally made the news is because a significant number of people have enjoyed her images, they know who she is, and however shallow that knowledge might be, it is enough for it to induce an emotional response. Not very strange, and not in the least deplorable, like these brains seem to think...

The more I hear about this tragedy the sadder it seems

She made news because...

1. it was one of the most horrific accident
2. she was unidentified
3. no matter what the masses think she was till in the public eye
4. it calls for an utmost attention about FORD automobiles workmanship

and what do you expect of aol msg board? most in there don't know squat about fashion, nor follow it, let alone, care for it.

Mmm, yeah it is an aol msg board, but isn't the sheer number of cluless insensitive besserwisser trolls sometimes astounding?

Heather Bratton--dead?

I"m not sure if this is posted in the right section and I don't know if it's true or not, but on a online picture site they have an orbit of this model? Has she died?

I found this online...i thought it was nice...she seemed like such a down to earth girl :flower:

Local model is remembered

Wesley Chapel, Florida — From Gucci to Prada, to the runways in Milan and Paris, 19-year-old Heather Bratton lived the life many young girls might have dreamed about. But on July 22nd, that dream ended when Bratton died trapped inside a burning car in New Jersey.

If you Google Heather Bratton's name, you'll find websites, with dozens of entries and comments from fans—and even those who never knew her—sending condolences to the family.

Sixteen-year-old Megan Horton lives in Bratton's neighborhood.

Megan Horton, 16-years-old: “We'd hang out in the cul-de-sac and we'd just be friends hanging out. It wasn't 'How was your modeling shoot?' or whatever. The first time I hung out with her, I didn't know she was a model. She was beautiful, but you couldn't tell by her attitude.”Horton says they called her 'Big Heather,' since Bratton's younger step-sister was also named Heather. The eldest daughter attended Wesley Chapel her sophomore and junior year, her senior year she was home-schooled.

Neighbors say it's amazing to know that someone they would see everyday was so accomplished at such a young age, with representation by a proffesional modelling agency.

Heather Bratton. Ph by Steven Meisel for Vogue Italia
Much of the industry’s doings has recently been overshadowed by the sad news of Heather Bratton’s tragic car crash on her way to Newark airport on Sataurday July 22nd. . In a statement from Women/Supreme Management, the following sentiment was expressed;
“Heather was a sweet, gentle and thoughtful girl who achieved a remarkable level of success during her first year modeling, which is a credit to her distinct beauty and spirit. Our hearts go out to her family, and wish that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”
We wish to extend our sympathies at this time to Heather’s family and hope that the groundswell of emotion her passing has caused will assure them that she touched many people’s lives in a very short time.

God. It's a shocking news. I've just read the news on models.com.
I just can't believe such a nice girl just left us. I'll miss her forever though I'm not a big fan of her.

Well it's about time, but I think Models.com should've done a little more...maybe got some quotes from people in the industry. Maybe Vogue Italia will release some of her unused pics in an Editorial remembering her, since they put her in there quite often. That would be nice...her death seems to have had a big impact...

I do hope that eventually Heather's family gets a chance to read this. She was not only talented, but it seems that she was a kind, well-grounded young woman.

My condolences to her family :(

The ignorance of some of those people who call themselves "educated" is sickening.

i dont even think we should give them the satifaciton of us bitching about them...the author is extreamally uncompasssionate and down right rude and arogant imo
