I would be the happiest person if stilettos would be accepted for men. :)
Great thread btw. It's so interesting seeing "straight" men in stilettos.

I thought the same thing. I will be happy too :p, I will buy mine and let's change the world :D

it's funny - I opened this thread thinking 'there won't be much' and I'm surprised at the amount this has been done in editorial. You're right - it's really on the rise

"The most buzzed about look on the runway? Men in heels. The male models wore the very same black high-heel ankle booties as the women."

Before I even opened the link I knew this was about Rad Hourani. I love his collections and want some of his men's high heels.

I think it's the style that varies mainly - the shape of a man's ankle and foot is usually different from a woman's, hence women's shoes are made to suit them.
In the eighteenth century, when men originally started wearing high heels, they were typical men's shoes only with a high heel - nothing feminine about them at all. The ladies' shoes were a lot different.

Example:
Louis XIV wearing his high red heels
and Louis XV's mistress,
Madame de Pompadour wearing women's high heels

I just this topic, and i just tought it was funny, there must this trend be setted cuz women are making us look shorter ! and i really mean it

haaah that one of baptiste would be hot... if it wasn't for the damn high heels.

my opinion though of course.

I don't think there's anything wrong with men wearing heels. Never be restrained by what society says.

I just think they need specialty men's heels because they are way too wide to fit into shoes for women's dainty little feet.

Mm I was thinking that too, that picture just says older man taking advantage of his position over sexy young model.

it's actually worse since Baptiste is the fiance of his god daughter or something.

sleazy sleazy sleazy

anything to get a young guy out of his pants.

In fact i donot think it is weird that men wear heels.Just do yourself.

but there's a difference between an old gay man shooting a young naked guy (one he uses in EVERY PHOTOSHOOT of his) and an old gay man shooting a young naked girl.

Hi all... Back in the late 80s/90s I used to wear them out to clubs. I think I saw Guns & Roses in 89. It was about that time. There was a grunge period when you would see guys in full maxi skirts with Doc Martin boots with a T-shirt. I thought they were kind of tacky. I had a pair of black patent ankle boots the laced up and then had a strap around the top of the ankle with 2 skinny buckles. I also had a pair of pointy toe lace up oxfords. Both were imported from Londen by store and really expensive (for me at the time). I had a skinny legged pair of stretch patent pants and a zip up collared jacket that was really fitted. My girlfriend and now wife had the same boots and the same jacket with a skirt and a dress. I had this long really tight knit tube skirt I would wear also. It was kind of a t-shirt material. They were full 5" heels- measured from the side. I spent hours walking around with a book on my head practicing. There were a lot of gothic types at these clubs. Sort of Punkers that dressed up instead of down. It is not an easy look to pull off. I think you have to be really skinny or at least that looks better. There was a period when leather was out and patent was in and latex also, but those are other threads... If done right I think and look really great and ladies are complimentary. The dudes- well they are kind of impressed and say- ROCK ON!

If you do a search on 70s fashion there were a lot of platform boots/shoes. David Bowie/NY Dolls. I also remember seeing I think it was Poisen, but maybe not because it might have been a harder edge band, but any way it was in a guitar magazine and they all had jeans and stiletto heels- Prince style.

^Those boys are really annoying me. They're even trying to stand like those stupid 15 yr. old models who act as if modeling is so arduous.
