Heels for Men

That's a sweet pair of heels (Post #701)! If I did femme heels, I may mostly go casual. Mostly with some chunky loafers or wedges. But those heels are awesome.

beautiful picture! I wouldn't mind a guy wearing heels if he had Gisele's legs.

Slightly out of focus, in the latest jakandjil picture walks bryanboy... lanvin shoes, birkin in hand. Maybe I am mistaken, but I thought he used to wear heels, no? Just don't see him around in them so much...

a big NO !

i'm all for neutral-gender, end-of-woman-vs-man-frontier ... but mostly in theory than in action, i'm more and more thinking. it's not even 3rd sex generation.

those two guys look completely ... idk what to say ...

the shoes are out of place they don't even match the outfit.
that's what i would call "need attention" look ...

(and i'm just talking about the shoes. coz the purse thing, been there, done that like 4yrs ago. a past phase for me but i can understand it).

there's a text, by the way :

Aldo Bologna, a visual merchandiser for John Galliano in Milan, and Victor Blanco, a stylist and personal shopper in Madrid, are BFFs. They arrived in New York for fashion week together.
They're attending shows together. And everyday this week they're sharing each other's high heels — more than 20 pair of size 8 designer shoes including Christian Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen, Roger Vivier and Yves St. Laurent and more — giving new meaning to BFF, as in best feet forward.
While waiting with the fashionista throng on line on the first day of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at the tents at Bryant Park for the David Elfin show (hated it, but loved the music!) the two buddies towered in style: both in five-inch high peep toe stilettos, Bologna, on the right in the above photo, in McQueen creations he accessorized with a Chanel 2.55 handbag; Blanco, on the left, in Louboutin and a Peter Nitz croc embossed clutch.

Make no mistake about it, Bologna and Blanco, attractive men, have no problem styling themselves in women's items, stepping out in designer heels, sleek handbags, super skinny stretch jeans and architectural jackets.
They aren't drag queens — their hair is styled in of-the-moment short dude looks. They don't wear make up or garish jewelry. And they each own about 70 pairs of men's shoes and a closet full of trendy men's outfits. But it's their heels they love and that stops traffic, first with amazement (and later with good hearted chuckles) at the notion that good looking men are in high heels in public — and unafraid by what others may think.
"We love wearing them and besides it's funny to other people and we like giving people something to smile about these days," says Bologna. "The heels make us look fantastic and gorgeous."
What do they look for in a great high heel? Hopefully what women look for, Blanco says. "It's about the fit and the feeling. When I see a great pair of shoes I fall in love with them and so I have to buy them."
More women must wear heels, he adds. "A woman has to because she's a woman and more important is that she will feel glamorous and powerful."

They look ridiculous, it looks like they're playing dress up (which I really hope they are).
If you're going to wear heels, at least go for a neutral pair that blends in your outfit.

tut tut... to each their own but i can guarantee you all this is NOT cool as much as the 2 above would like to believe they are while trotting around the fashion weeks

I thought you would "enjoy" the pics.

Whilst I am certainly not against the "men in heels" thing and dabble with cuban heels myself, these two just haven't got it right and certainly will not inspire the rapid takeup of heels by men (outside of the bedroom). The Johnny boot is "just too boring darling" would be their response.

It's a shame but this extreem sort of exhibitionism does nothing to advance the choice of men where footwear is concerned. The ladies would be destraught if they could only choose from the styles offered to men.

^^i saw them at a fashion week event in NYC I just didnt know who they were.
same kind of looks: one of them in louboutin, the other in some unidentifiable pump. one with a fuchsia blazer, the other one in leopard print.
i
did
not
like
it

(sorry-_-)

LOL

sorry for sounding 'mid-western' but they look like a freakshow. there's nothing 'cool' about 2 balding gay guys in their 40s wearing 5 inch peeptoe heels.

I don't know.... guys in extremely high heels look a bit strange but I guess whatever rocks their boat. I just wouldn't want my bf or father wearing ladies' shoes, IMHO.

Wow..as the original poster of this thread im glad to see its got such an amazing response. Some mixed opinions here.

Since originally posting this I have since went on to include heels as part of my style. Ok, so I only wear heels that I think are quite unisex in a way I don't wear stilettos etc. Although I did wear pointy toe boots once as my girlfriend thought it would look cool with a suit, so it was quite a fun experience. But generally, I wear sort of square toe, chunky heel boots (with about 2-3 inch heel). Most people don't even notice I'm wearing heels as I usually wear them with bootcut or slightly flared jeans/trousers. Although when people do notice I generally get a great response. But I suppose because I'm still young, small (5' 5") and very slim built I can pull the look of.

I also see a few designers have started going fairly unisex with the guys wearing heels etc. Personally I think once you get past all the fetish nonsense and silly ideas of the idea men wearing heels is quite cool to me.
