Helena's work is very elegant yet esoteric, I think. Everything is handmade and completion takes 150 hrs. or so for each garment. She is truly a gem...

Hello BerlinRocks,Helena apparently showed in Stockholm this season, though photos from the r-t-w show have yet to materialize sadly. Paris would be a likely move, but she seems to prefer operating in Stockholm exclusively. Idk even know if her garments are available elsewhere @ this moment in time.



At any rate, it's uplifting to see such focus and distinction from young female designers. Helena and Sandra Backlund are fast becoming new favorites. Employing all those old-world techniques and such...

one would hope rei kawakubo and her scouts at dover street would be the one,as they did with this new ukranian label atelier 1,to introduce the rest of the world to her work. and if she does intend on staying strictly in stockholm,which i completely respect,she should apply for something like the hyeres festival to get her some kind of notoriaty and maybe showroom presentations like rendez-vous.....

My pleasure! And perhaps hype would be too strong of a word. But she's definitely getting well deserved attention.

It's not working out for her financially [yet], though. Her S/S show was fully sponsored by one of the fashion week organizers, for instance, but she is/was still working night shifts at a regular job in order to make ends meet...

Hardly surprising, I guess, especially given the fact that she has yet to make a name for herself outside of Scandi land. But she's too talented not to be doing this full-time.
