To the English it will sound fancy because its french.

We've been only 23 miles from France for the past few thousand years so the novelty of writing things in French has worn off a bit.

Why not just name the shop after your friend's surname: think of how many expensive brands are simply surnames, one of the 'coolest' fashion shops is just called 'Browns'...

And yeah, deli-cious is kinda sad - it was my first idea also ...

And I think PrinceofCats might have a point there ... by naming the shop after your friend's surname, gives it a kind of homey feeling. And in this age of globalisation people want something homey, from the neighbourhood, something that sounds traditional ... I also think it would sound cool if you named the place after a spice or herb - like "Chives" or "Marjoram". That sounds cool IMO.

ive always liked the name bare....
maybe not for a deli...?...


but to me its always been synonymous with things like 'fresh'....
stripped down, organic, quality goods....

or what about slice...?..
deli, meats...?..

at least its a little bit different...


slice would be fun to market...
you could advertise with things like 'a little slice of good taste'...
etc etc..

I wouldnt use deli OR posh in the name.

Something more abstract will appeal to that sort of clientele.
Maybe *suis* or something random and french like that.
