I wish they´d hire someone with something other than looks going for her as Lois... but maybe they want a pretty girl who doesn´t stand much so Henry and Diane can run the movie.

Well they did say they're casting a female lead. They didn't say it was Lois.

But I want them to cast someone like Michelle Williams, Abbie Cornish, Zoe Saldana, Jessica Chastain, or Hayley Atwell.

They're all beautiful, but they can also play a strong, female part. I don't want the female character (Lois or not) to just be the damsel in distress. I want her to be bada*s.

^Agree. Especially because Lois is supposed to be a spunky person - though please aim for something better than Smallville' Lois whom considers journalism only a little more than an afterthought.

We don't even know the plot yet, judging from what Snyder says it'll go back to the origins. It's more likely to Lana than Lois. But I think we just have to wait and see. Snyder has good history with Abbie Cornish so maybe. I suspect every actress of the right age bracket will be wheeled in to see them, that's usually the way it works.

Usually,women are strong in Snyder's movies,so i hope the same with Lois.
I suspect Abbie Cornish to be a contender for the part and i have nothing against Jessica Biel but she's a mediocre actress.
The actress who'll get the part will be the one that will have the best chemistry with Cavill...

It shouldn't be too hard to have chemistry with him.
I really hope they consider Haley Atwell. She's a great actress and she hasn't really gotten her "big break" yet, but I have a feeling they may try to get a more well known actress since everyone they've cast so far aren't really big box office draws.

^I don't really think she has the Lois Lane look to be frank. I've seen people suggest Sophia Bush and I agree regarding looks, but I'm not that keen on her acting.

There will be endless speculation but for the cast we know they have so far so good. It should be interesting to see what Zack comes up with and I trust in the guidance of Chris Nolan

I read today that Amanda Seyfried said she auditioned for a role in Superman (but didn't get it) and I can't see her as Lois. I wonder if Lana will be in the movie? Especially, since Zack Snyder said they would pretend like the previous movies didn't exist so I'm thinking more and more that it will be an origins movie a la Batman Begins. Would make sense to focus on Superman's "first love" and well, pull a Spiderman.

Or, maybe she auditioned for the rumoured role female role that Variety reported Diane Kruger, Rosemund Pike and Alice Eve were frontrunner for since they are all also blonde.

LOL, I'm dying for more casting news.

On the bright side, Henry will attend the WonderCon 2011 (April 1-3) for Immortals so there will be news on probably both Immortals (maybe even a trailer?) and Superman. Can't wait to see Henry respond to all the attention as well.

News that Viggo Mortensen is off Snow White & the Huntsman (clearly having to out act Kristen Stewarts chin was too much for him) and is now in talks for a role in Superman! this bodes really well!

^I dunno... Zack Snyder already said he wasn't in the movie. I don't know if things have changed now... but he might not have ever really been attached to the movie. Would you chose a movie where you had to act against someone like Stewart OR Henry, Diane and Kevin Costner?

Agree. My only concern is that she's a tad bit older than I expected. But Amy looks much younger than her age so it's all good. I'm so thrilled with this pick because I can totally see Amy as Lois.

WHAT?! Amy Adams?! I'm confused. I wasn't expecting that at all.
But at least they got someone who can act.

I just can't picture her starring opposite Henry.
