Hermès Scarves

For my case, the shop are kinda crowded that time and the SA seems more eager to serves the middle aged ladies with their rich-looking husband than me & my darling who looks like college students.

I have been coveting an Hermes scarf for so long now. I want one in green, purple, blue, orange...

I really like this Twilly :woot:

At 33" I it should be pretty versitle, right? Is it possible to use it as a belt around the waist, or do you think its too risky (risk of losing it)?

My brother and I just bought that for my mom for her birthday, she loved it!

I'm thinking about getting this for myself, to wear as a neck scarf in the summer with a dress shirt. Any opinions ladies, gents? Is it too feminine? The only reason I've resorted to Hermes is because I can't find anything else. It seems no (straight) men want to wear scarves anymore...

I love the idea of wearing that with a dress shirt for a man, it definitely is not too feminine. I was watching Paris Je'taime this past weekend and a few of the men were wearing scarves and looked so incredibly sharp. It makes me sad that many men don't wear things like scarves or nice hats anymore, so I say definitely go for it:)

Heyz, today I bought the Plumes et Grelots scarf with a dark blue edge.
Does anybody know any information about this scarf?

The Hermes Debacle

I recently thrifted an Hermes scarf for next to nothing.

I realize they are a classic, iconic, etc, etc, BUT! I am having a bit of trouble integrating it with my wardrobe. To give you some idea of that: I love Riccardo Tisci's work at Givenchy, Keith Richards, Pamela Love jewelry, and Kate Shillingford of the ombre hair. There is an underlying classic prep sensibility to all of this, but the jist is that...

how best to add a bit of edge to my own Hermes? There must be an unusual way of tying it that I am overlooking or SOMETHING?

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

How about with black skinny pants, a leather jacket, smokey eye make up, and a ridiculously amazing pair of shoes - either amazing combat/chunky boots or chunky heels or platforms.

I have an Hermes 'H' Belt (not sure the exact name) that I bought on a whim in Munich last summer. I wear it with completely shredded Current Elliots and a Gryphon leather jacket to give it an edge and not make it look like I'm the usual conservative type that shops at Hermes.

I'm going to get on this asap. The smoky eye definitely will add a lot of vamp to it.
Considering throwing on a McQueen skull scarf in the same color scheme with the Hermes...

I imagine the Hermes belt looks amazing like that!

So far, I only have a twilly. I love it heaps and wear it whenever and however I can. My fave way is around the wrist. I read somewhere tha Madonna wore a bigger scarf as a halter in Swept Away - guess I'll have to rewatch... Oh and perhaps around the waist?

yes she did wear one as a top. I am too big to do that. but on those that can it's pretty cool. Also on the Hermes website there is a section called playtime with your scarf and they have a bunch of different ways to tie them. I also just got the new book that they released about the Hermes scarf and they mention in the 40's Colette would wear one like a big bow tie!
