I like her. She kept popping up at all the big shows in Paris. She's a cross between Jennifer Connelly(sp?) and model Sierra Huismann. She one of my new favs already.

At YSL... sorry but the ones I posted in post #2 as YSL is actually Lanvin

Any more info on her? I didn't realize she was from MD. I'm from the DC area & I'm curious as to how she made her way to Europe.
Style.com mentioned her as one of the new faces & there is a small portfolio of her at imgmodels.com.

Oh she is in their new faces!! Good news for her!! Thanks for mentioning it..

sadly though I don't really know much about Hilary.. and I'm curious also why she only did shows in Paris... and only the BIG shows! I wonder if she'll be in any campaigns for SS 2006

i agree...i haven't really liked any of the new models until she came along...and sierra huisman was one of my faves as well

i loved her for ysl...would be great if she was cast in their s/s ads...

more on hilary from models.com:

Once every three years there comes along a girl who is that very thing the modeling industry has been aching for. Such is the case with IMG’s highly coveted newcomer who exploded out of Paris to now find herself at the middle of a frantic booking mania. All-American, sleek and polished in that East Coast patrician mould, Hilary was claimed by Paris in virtually every blue chip show ranging from Chanel to Valentino to Balenciaga, Rochas, Lanvin and YSL. You’ll be seeing her profile in all the right places.

and the blurb from style.com's fresh faces:

"Springtime" in Paris was special indeed for this 19-year-old Maryland native—she opened Valentino's opulent show. Not bad for her first season on the runway.

I like her.. very refined.. she looks a little too bland and standard at times though... and she reminds me a lot of Jennifer Connelly as someone else mentioned..

I like her- she is so cute! go maryland!!! i just found out that she went to a school near me!

Excerpt from a great article in NY times... can be read in full on this thread

http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/f52/who-americas-next-top-model-really-nytimes-article-34270.html

Here's the excerpt talking about Hilary... we finally know why she only did shows in Paris

--------------------------------------------------

As it happened, Ms. Werbowy gave the runway season a pass in order to film a campaign for Lancôme, but her brief absence gave rise to speculation about who might be next in line atop the model sweepstakes. Where will the real woman come from to claim the prize that 4.7 million viewers of "America's Next Top Model" believe may go to one of the show's pretty but delusional prospects?

"It's always a cycle and the cycle always changes around," Mr. Bart of IMG said optimistically. "Look at Hillary Rhoda," he added, referring to the 19-year-old with the poise and classic patrician looks of a Fitzgerald heroine.

For the spring 2006 season, which ended last month, Mr. Bart took Ms. Rhoda, a leggy brunette and a former field hockey player from Chevy Chase, Md., on the rounds of international casting calls. It was Ms. Rhoda's first season in the business." I told people 'I've got this great new girl' and I schlepped her to all the top designers," Mr. Bart said. "And everywhere I went, everybody humored me and looked at me like I had lost my mind." In New York and then in Milan, the reception for Ms. Rhoda's All American beauty was underwhelming.

Yet then in Paris, in a Horatio Alger twist that would do Ms. Banks proud, Ms. Rhoda was taken to see Nicolas Ghesquiere, the Balenciaga designer and an influential figure. Mr. Ghesquiere immediately chose Ms. Rhoda to walk in his show. And after that, the former Roman Catholic schoolgirl who had been yawned out of appointments with most major designers found herself booked for every blue chip show in town: Dior, Chanel, Chloé, Rochas, YSL and Valentino, where she had the distinction of being the first model on the ramp. When Ms. Rhoda was cast by Marc Jacobs for the Louis Vuitton presentation, it was as if she had received the modeling equivalent of a papal nod. "I call the way Marc makes models the Pygmalian effect," Ms. Fish of KCD said.

Whether a banner season for one young mannequin augurs a major taste shift in the modeling business and perhaps even a return to what some forecast as a resurgence of classic American sportswear it seems early to predict. "Does it mean we're going to see a comeback for American models?" Mr. Bart asked. "Who knows? But I can tell you that nobody but nobody wanted Hillary until Paris, and then Nicolas cast her. And then suddenly this whole American in Paris thing kicked in and she was totally, totally the top girl of the week."

^^Interesting article Charlotte, thanks. I can't believe she wasn't recieved well in NY and Milan. I guess it only takes one "cool" designer to approve you and the rest will follow. I hope she has longevity because I really like her look.

Love her look! Very fresh and All American yet she can pull off the Balenciaga edgy vibe. She looks alot like Jennifer Connelly (maybe that's why Nicholas likes her so much) her face almost seems like that of an actress moreso than a model. Especially when I look at her next to Maria Carla.

I adore the photo with the little bug, so cute. Love the eyebrows they're the perfect shape.
