Really I don't know why she has been critized to appear on SISE is a very prestigious publication so great for her and she keeps her political ideas to herself because Democrats are at White House!!!!!!

Popped by Capitol File cocktail party at the Mayflower hotel (yes, that Mayflower made famous again recently by Spitzer.) The party was in honor of Hilary Rhoda, the all-American, gorgeous Estee Lauder model who is on the December cover. I met her 4 years ago at a neighbor's home in Bethesda. She is actually from Chevy Chase, Maryland. A sweet, nice teenager then, she has blossomed into a sophisticated, worldly, and still very nice adult. Plus I loved her striking red lipstick. Forgot to ask her which color...

I think she wasn't critized directly but the women who appear on it. But she didn't get the cover

Hilary Rhoda, D.C.'s home-grown supermodel

Hilary Rhoda signs a blown-up cover of Capitol File. She graces this month's issue. (Mark Silva for Capitol File
Just think: If Hilary Rhoda had stayed on the same track as her fellow private-school girls, she would have graduated from college already.
Instead, the 2005 graduate of Academy of the Holy Cross in Kensington took a detour to the runways of New York -- and a major contract as the face of Estée Lauder cosmetics.
We caught up with the supermodel at a party in her honor Monday at the Mayflower Hotel, hosted by Capitol File -- one of those glossy society magazines promoting luxury goods that used to throw parties about four times as often as it put out issues, though not so much lately. But hey, this was a return to the old days (Scotch bar, steak skewers, chicken dumplings, dessert buffet) so maybe people have started buying Rolexes again?
The magazine put her on its most recent cover, and Rhoda turned out to pose for endless photos on a mini red carpet, her 5-foot-11 frame hugged by a sophisticated little black lace dress that showed a lot of leg. The party was filled with D.C.'s cocktail crowd (lobbyists, PR types, Rep. Kendrick Meek, Luke Russert, Raymone Bain), and Rhoda, 22, would have likely been the youngest one there -- except that her mom surprised her by rounding up a gaggle of her Holy Cross friends to come along, too. Most of them, of course, are now done with college. Does she regret that she missed all that fun?
The young millionairess answered warmly and politely, giving no hint if she was inwardly laughing. No, she said, she logged a fair amount of time on campuses. "I feel like I experienced college by visiting them."
The Washington Post

Here the article:
First lady Michelle Obama may be the talk of the fashion world, but Hilary Rhoda still holds the title as the Washingtonian with the most recognizable face on the runway and in print.

The model who graces this month's cover of Capitol File Magazine drew a crowd of fashionable men and women to a holiday party in her honor Monday night at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel.

Wearing a tight black lace overlay dress with an exposed back zipper, the Chevy Chase native had all the guests gushing.

Rhoda told POLITICO it was gratifying to appear on the cover of the local magazine "because it's a much more personal thing than just being in a magazine.”

The brunette beauty with killer eyebrows is pretty hard to miss — even when she is not on the cover of a Washington-area glossy. Rhoda, the new face of Estee Lauder cosmetics, appeared in this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and her print ads appear in all the top fashion magazines across the country.

Currently living in New York City, Rhoda said that she still feels her hometown is one fashion forward place.

"It always has been. … It's a different kind of chic," she said.

Rhoda contended that there are "definitely a lot of people here with great style,” noting with enthusiasm that she shares the first lady’s love of designer Jason Wu.

Check out the video below to hear her talk more about Michelle Obama and find out where the twenty two year old loves to shop in the District.

Party deets:

Venue: The event was held in the Mayflower’s Town and Country bar as well as an upper level overlooking the grand lobby. Things got into full swing once the guests all moved to the upper level.

Food: Black cherry bourbon tenderloin; cheese and crackers; crabcakes with a mustard sauce; veggies and dip served in a shot glass; chicken in phyllo dough with a peanut sauce; lamb skewers; ratatouille stuffed artichokes hearts; and a huge dessert buffet with holiday classics.

Booze: Several open bars featured a selection of Johnnie Walker Black Label and Red Label creations. There was also a tasting station of Blue Label, the crème de la crème of the scotch whiskey's brand. Rhoda stayed away from the scotch, instead sipping a vodka and soda.

Star power: Hilary Rhoda; Niche Media CEO Jason Binn; Capitol File's Sarah Schaffer and Christie Findlay; Philadelphia Style Magazine's John Colabelli; CNN's Edie Emery, Jessica Yellin, Kristi Slafka and Meryl Conant; David Washington; "Real Housewives of D.C." cast member Lynda Erkiletian; Jamestown Entertainment's Freddie Wyatt; MicroStrategies Michael Saylor; Fishbowl DC's Matt Dornic; make-up guru Carl Ray, who has worked with Michelle Obama; Rick Raines; Jack and Susanna Quinn; ABC's Courtney Cohen and Polson Kanneth; NBC's Sarah Demarest and Colleen Sanvido; ABC 7/WJLA's Alison Starling and Pamela Brown; WUSA 9's Angie Goff; The Georgetown Dish's Beth Solomon; Creative Enterprises International's Janet Donovan; Fashion for Paws' Tara de Nicolas; Matt Lowe; Heather Guay; J.P. Fielder; Becca Glover; Todd Flournoy; Jake Perry; Jeff DuFour and his wife, Jayne Sandman; Miss DC 2008 Kate Marie Grinold; The Corcoran Gallery of Art's Kristin Guiter and Rachel Cothran.

Fun factor: Young women dressed in their best excitedly took pictures with the city’s fashion celebrity.

Amazing she is on way to turn Celebrity because I think in this way she gonna get major goals after seeing many magazines, designers give their covers / campaign to celebrities

Ha, that might have been me. Spencer and Hil went to my school, but Spencer was in my grade and Hil was in my brother's. But way back then (10 years now! Wow!) Spencer was like the hot lacrosse player in our grade. He did NOT age very well - those latest pics of him were not good at all. I'm just very glad Hilary did age beautifully! Love watching her success grow.

I met Supermodel Hilary Rhoda while waiting to get on my flight at LAX. She’s very sweet and nice. I told her my bestie, Melissa, did the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue too. She smiled, “yeah, I know who she is.” We both laughed. Only in L.A. She’s so easy to talk to that I felt like we already knew each other. I have a charmed life. The flight attendant is making me shut off my phone, so no time to spell/gramar check. Haha

So she's been working in Los Angeles this week. I wonder what for. Very beautiful even in a phone picture

Hilary Rhoda Is Proud of Not Being a Frail Model

Model Hilary Rhoda wants to inspire girls to hit the treadmill. "I work out every day," the 22-year-old face of Estée Lauder told the Washington Times. "And to have a strong body instead of something frail like in fashion magazines, that's something to look up to." Good for her! Between models endorsing healthy fitness and plus-size beauties having a hallelujah moment right now, perhaps the I-haven't-eaten-in-days look is finally on its way out

Surely for work. She has been very busy lately according a fellow who is fashion insider though I don't know what. In LA many models go to do shoots at Smartbox studios so.
And yes she has the prettiest eyes in the world!!

Who said supermodels only jet-set
Washington native Hilary Rhoda hopped the Amtrak Acela from New York on Monday, after flights were delayed, in order to make it to the Mayflower Hotel for the Capitol File holiday party, where she crossed paths with Senate hopeful Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.).
Other VIP attendees included CEO and founder of Niche Media Jason Binn; former Ambassador to Hungary and founder of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Nancy Brinker; Quinn Gillespie founder Jack Quinn and wife Susanna Quinn; NBC’s Luke Russert; ABC’s Angie Goff; the Brunswick Group’s David Sutphen; and real estate developer John Cecchi, who has announced his engagement to girlfriend Kristin Irish.

Another article related very good:

Hilary Rhoda will be in next year's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Friend-to-Jezebel Liz Glover recently interviewed the model and asked her about her shoot for last year's issue. "For a model, it is a major achievement and a business tactic to widen my fan base," said the Chevy Chase native, over e-mail. "I work out every day, and to have a strong body instead of something frail like in fashion magazines, that's something to look up to." Rhoda, of course, sometimes does appear in the pages of fashion magazines — she once made the cover of American Vogue. Could her athletic look gain high-fashion acceptance? We can dare to dream
