One of my dear friends and I pass back and forth "Hopeless Romantic" mixes.. Filled with sappy songs which allow us to harbor our ideals of love. Now, we are so typical so I'm asking you for some interesting songs, songs about love which you would recommend for a hopeless romantic such as myself..

For this mix I have only thought of a few songs..

rufus wainwright - foolish love, copeland - she changes your mind, howie day - perfect time of day, coldplay - shiver...

The last one had postal service, john mayer, tori amos, deathcab for cutie, elton john, eric clapton.. Just looking for any new lovely songs to grab

You'll not be wanting Love Hurts by Gram Parsons then.

Loving You - Minnie Ripperton
Something nice and romantic by Andreas Scholl
Angie - The Rolling Stones

Jan Garbarek [the-one-in-a-Cathedral-what-I-have-forgotten-the-name-of]has nothing to do with love but it really is hauntingly beautiful, and you'll probably start thinking about all things beautiful... Same for Concierto D'Aranjuez.

Ooooh nice, Pointup. This is my forte...

Soul Whirling Somewhere - "The Wedding"
Soul Whirling Somewhere - "Nani"
Red House Painters - "Katy Song"
Red House Painters - "Medicine Bottle"
Soul Whirling Somewhere - "The Last Time I Left"
Soul Whirling Somewhere - "The Hook Through It"
Soul Whirling Somewhere - "The Great Barrier"
American Music Club - "Miracle on 8th Street"
American Music Club - "The Confidential Agent"
Dakota Suite - "The Leper's Companion"
Dakota Suite - "Sand Fools the Shoreline"
Tierney Sutton - "Blue in Green"
Mark Eitzel - "Mission Rock Resort"
Mark Eitzel - "Some Bartenders Have the Gift of Pardon"
Mark Eitzel - "Everything is Beautiful"
American Music Club - "The Revolving Door"
American Music Club - "What Holds the World Together"
American Music Club - "Apology for an Accident"
Soul Whirling Somewhere - "I Give Up. Goodbye."

I'm telling you, Sara. If you're truly a hopeless romantic looking for sad, hopeless-romantic songs, there are no sadder, romantic songs than these. Check out any early Red House Painters. American Music Club can be patchy, but check out the albums "Everclear" and "Mercury" first, then "San Francisco". And Soul Whirling Somewhere is just the saddest music and especially lyrics I've ever heard. Check out "Hope Was" and "Please Sennd Help" (mispelled intentionally). All this stuff is way, way, WAY sadder than the stuff you've listed. It's like crazy-depressing sometimes.
