In the US- how long do the sales last? when do they end?

Ummm, well I think it all depends. Most of the sales that started early (Barneys) are most likely going to be done by the end of this month or earlier. But I think more boutiques and smaller stores, who started their sales after the holidays will be going on for another month or more.

But on average, they last for 1-3 months or, until the majority of a new collection rolls in.

I think she means the Christmas/New Year/end of the year sales, in which case they're probably going to end soon. All the stores seem to be in limbo between seasons, waiting for new stuff to come in.
