How to disguise asymmetric eyes?

Just wondering if anyone has ideas on how to disguise asymmetric eyes. Would love to hear your ideas.

i think the first thing you should do would be to check out paris hilton's thread here at TFS. she's the first celeb i can think of that has very asymetric eyes (i believe she has one lazy eye)

in a bizarre twist of events i recently did the make up for a friend who was getting married..
and i had to do just this...

it is very specific to each person...
but what i had to do is put more eyeliner on one eye than the other...
when her eyes were shut it looked totally uneven...
but when they were open..
it worked perfectly...

i would suggest taking pictures to get an objective view of what works and what doesn't...
it really helps!

oh..it TOTALLY worked...

the bride was obviously aware of the difference in her two eyes because she mentioned it to me before we did he make up...


and then when i did it...i didn't tell her what i was doing it..
i just did what looked right...

and then she looked at it and said...
you know...the make up is uneven@!...
...
* i was going to smack her!...

i was like...
yeah..i know...
but that is what i had to do to balance your eyes...
it's a *trick*..
and then she looked again with her eyes completely open and realized that it totally worked!...

EVERYONE said how beautiful she looked...
and i have to admit...
looking at pics now....
she really looked amazing...

so- yeah...
it totally works...

Try not to do very precise, clean-edged eye makeup. Avoid sharp lines with eyeliner and bold contrasts with shadow. If you do a more soft-focus look with blended shadows and smudged liner, the asymmetry won't be that obvious.

Paris Hilton has a lazy eye, which is slightly different. It is more difficult to disguise with makeup, because it has to do with her eyeball, not the shape of her eyes. She's learned the right way to pose for photographs so as to hide it. Angie Harmon is a good example of someone with asymmetrical eyes, perhaps look at her eye makeup?

i agree about the smudging...good point!...

we actually did very precise liquid liner but then smudged it completely with a q tip...
so you can be very precise in your correction, but then soften it up ...
to disguise what you did...

I totally did not know that Paris had a lazy eye! Though now you tell me, I think I've seen a hint of it. I work with someone who has this, and it's so distracting to me

paris hilton also has one lid that's more "closed" than the other.
i also have one lid that usually doesnt open as much as my other lid. although with me its hardly noticeable. not so for paris!!

My eyes aren't uneven, it's actually the eyelid fold that kills me. i would have a thick eyelid fold, and then it loosens up somehow, and I get a thinner fold on one eye and then my eyes would look uneven. It's the weirdest thing, and it lasts for weeks. So I literally look like a different person.

I don't even know if I've got a lazy eye :S
I know they are asymmetric ...

I always purposly "angle" my head when taking photographs but as you can see it doesnt seem to work

A lazy eye is when your eyeball sort of...wanders. Hard to explain, but it's not necessarily unattractive by the way. River Phoenix had a lazy eye, and onscreen it is hypnotizing to watch the way he sometimes had to blink rapidly to bring his eye into focus.

Sweet n simple, perhaps it is just the pictures you posted, but I honestly don't see a pronounced asymmetry in your eyes. All I see is a beautiful pair of brown eyes, with generous eyelid space. If a makeup artist were to work on you, he/she would exclaim,"Omigod, you have the most perfect eyes for makeup!"

My eyes are asymmetrical, I try to keep my eye makeup soft and smudged, with thick long lashes... not sure if it makes them look even, but I like the look.

everyone's eyes are aysmmetrical, one eye is usual bigger than the other...??

I just read that you can do this by parting the hair over I believe it was the smaller eye ... well, try it both ways

Old thread, but I'm bumping it because this has been a HUGE problem for me as of late. I seriously look like Quasimodo/would love some advice on this one.

If you wear liquid eyeliner you can do a thicker line over the smaller eye to make it appear bigger...

I am currently looking into plastic surgery in order to address this problem. Just scared that it might make it worse :S
