There's really a lack of Asian models around, with devon (sort of) and Ai gone, she's really the only current mainstream asian model I can think of, so I'd like to see more of her too, preferably in editorials, but you don't get much for them......

Where have you been the last few weeks? Just like there was an Aussie invasion and a Canadian invasion as people like to call it, there now is an Asian invasion on the runways. We have Ai Tominaga back in business, Hye Park, An Watanabe, Liu Dan, Du Juan, Sonny, Song and I think a few more too. That is more than ever, which means that Asian models are really making their way up in the business. Gladly

Also, I doubt that Galliano does not like Asian. For couture FW 02, there were only Asian girls in the last 10-15 pieces. Ai Tominaga has been one of his favourites for the past years too, before she took a break...

Truuuue, but editorially, they are still rare:(

yourbestfriend, you are right that many asians do have natural double-eyelid, but it's my opinion that koreans have the least people with it. if you weren't one of the lucky ones to be born with it, you would have probably thought of getting surgery at least once in your life. i know i do every once in a while. I am a korean by the way.

Oh please don't! Everyone is beautiful the way they were born.

And I'd rather think of this new wave of Asian girls as an integration instead of an invasion, as invasions are rarely welcome and often do not stand the test of time. :p But that's just me. Whatever you want to call it I hope that this is here to stay.

I can't believe Galliano doesn't like asian models. He uses them all the time. His first Dior Couture show had Irina Pataeva(sp?) in it. I know she's Russian but she's an eskimo. He also used Ling Tang a lot in the Dior show and his own line. That statement about Galliano is doubtful. But an argument can be made about other designers... :innocent:
