Designers Switching Houses & Moving to New Brands

^ Brioni has never been about fashionable stuff (except for those fantastic womenswear collections in late 2000s). The target demographic is very stable so I don’t see the need to hire him, it’s just not a brand that need a renovation, “if it ain't broke don't fix it” type of brand. Versace and Pilati is like night and day, it will never work 😅. I think his ultimate aim is Armani and probably CdG (Rei is his idol).

Zegna was the same but it didnt stop them from taking pilati.

^ But it didn’t last long, as you can see. Stefano is very similar to Haider (Haider is more romantic and frivolous, while Stefano is more rational), both of them clearly want to design at a house with a stronger fashion legacy that aligns more closely with their own DNA. Ofc, menswear is basically free real estate for them because they’re exceptionally good at it. But in terms of impact and industry influence, Zegna or Brioni just aren’t the most desirable names if you’re trying to elevate your image or generate buzz — Brioni is even more discreet and purely sartorial than Zegna.

I just want him out of his berghain era 🤣 been way too long now, time to do some fashion again hunny.

Looking at blazy's chanel, pilatis flop fendi capsule collection was already giving the same energy.

Lets bring pilati in brioni... even Versace by him would be so interesting
Im not sure that Pilati would ever want to work for Kering anymore (he wasn’t really respected there too) but who knows…Mr Pinault is not at the helm anymore.

Umit Benan for me would be great. He is my candidate for Armani but would actually work there too.

That’s sad news ! Norbert at Brioni was very chic and always relatable - had few pieces from him and the quality is superb as well as longevity of the products, amazing base for elegant wardrobe. Hopefully he’ll find some other place to carry on with his vision…

Considering that noone perceives Brioni as a very 'seasonal' fashion brand, it would be a fabulous move if Jil Sander designed a collab of semi-permanent styles for them with changing fabrics and colors - It would be all the rage at the very end of her career to come back one last time with something that sums up the very best of her legacy.

Adrian Appiolaza on the Moschino chopping board?
I really hope he is out! I absolutely loved his debut collection, one of my favourite collections of that season, but from that moment everything felt so soulless. I think that Moschino, as Versace, as Dolce when the moment would come, really need an Italian designer who can understand Italian lifestyle and wit...

Most likely.
Aeffe Group (which owns Alberta Ferretti, Moschino and Pollini) is currently facing a tough restructuring process due to decline in profits. They are going to announce >200 lay offs out of 540 total employees and they removed themselves from Milan stock exchange list.
Unfortunately, both Ferretti and Moschino are just another "middle class" brands that are going to file for bankruptcy in the next few months, max couple years.
I can totally understand why people would want to leave the ship before it actually sinks. But Appiolaza's Moschino really sucked, very drab and irrilevant collections. I don't know anyone who would spend luxury prices on Moschino when with few hundred bucks more you could get Dior.

Jesus how many restructurings are happening? It seems for the last two years majority of the brands are going through major upheavals and are struggling to maintain consistency.

I liked the honesty of his collections, but alas his presentations were rather dour.

I loved his designs for Moschino but unfortunately, you can’t design fun clothes and remove the fun in everything that surrounds those clothes.
Moschino is also about a sense of fun that should be carried in presentations, campaigns, people you dress.
I don’t know who they will choose for the job but they will need Carlyne or someone who can do « fun ».

Moschino is one of those brands where you cannot simply remove the heritage of the previous CD.

Everybody is getting fired but how come Mr Nigo is still at KENZO! Wake up LVMH people.

Adrian could be great there. Something has to be done with Patou too.
