Interview February 2011 : Tom Ford by Craig McDean

That's an eye catching cover...can't say that I like it, though. Usually red, black and white works, but I think it looks pretty cheap-especially along with the graphics. It's an interesting idea and I appreciate the overall menacing quality of the cover, but I'm too bothered by the hand that reminds me of a claw for some odd reason. And altogether, there's way too much going on for me. I haven't wowed by any Interview covers lately...

The editorials, on the other hand, look really good.

Bradford Cox is also in this issue!
minus1, do you know how many pages? and who shot him?

thanks! and how many pages has the Bradford Cox feature?

Aymeline Valade by Craig McDean Full editorial

Thanks for posting the Full edit. This is one of the strongest eds of the year, so far. The styling is unbelievable; I love what Mr. Templer did with the Prada and Proenza frocks. Totally took them out of the runway/show context and flipped the script. This is the work of a good stylist. Kudos.

At a distance, I thought it was a shot of Tom Ford with a 'shattering mirror' effect, a comment on what's beneath his carefully presented image... and then I realised it was merely some sort of zig-zag design thing, like someone's gone crazy with the craft knife, but in a very precise way.

Myopia always makes things seem better than they really are, because your imagination is creating half the picture.

Haven't been bothering with Interview much lately, think I'll have to make an exception with this issue. Everything looking pretty impressive.

minus1 thank you soo much! i adore this unconventional talented musician!

i was bored up until i saw bradford cox was in the issue! awesome :) thanks for the scans

Baptiste by Karl?? LOL
Looks like an interesting issue

Amazing cover! love the effects but I hope that they lessened the ripping of the image. Looks weird from a far.

Baptise by Karl is weird. I wonder if those black boxes are removed in real life or they`re permanently there. Karl`s obsession over Baptiste and his.

seeing ethan james with that old man is HILARIOUS ...
i wonder how it was on the set ... ethan with all those men ...

i really like the cover (wonder how it renders irl). TFord you do a good campain for yr ties ... (i really like them btw. own some .... your pr can send more to me, my colour is blue). and the light used for these shot is very flattering to TFord ...
just getting kind of annoyd by the over cutting project they did with the pictures. there're a tiny bit too much ... wish i could see them without ...

SOOOOOOOOOO tired of Tom Ford already, but the thing is fashion magazines do the same thing EVERY SINGLE TIME when something is hot: "Céline", now "Tom Ford" etc. They ALL jump on the same thing, which makes the "event" or "designer" or "fashion moment" less impressive as it should be. Aymeline Valade by Craig McDean is an AMAZING editorial though. And I do agree, this cover looks too similar to Ford's ad campaigns.

hate the layout. especially because the picture is great. why the cutting? it's too much. i can barely see anything in the ed, it looks so messy.

I agree 100%

I'm sure I'll buy the issue anyway, just because of some of the great content, but the cover itself and the editorial are just really annoying. As you said, you can barely see anything!

ITW is a pop culture magazine (a high and fashion pop culture, true).
so that's normal to have TF ... TF is only in magazines for like 2 months ...
:unsure::huh:

if you want something else than the BIG thing and/or come-back, well buy Purple Fashion, Encens, Fantastic Man, Dapper Dan stuff like that ...

but ITW is like Vogue, in my eyes. It's for everyone ... And atm, everyone has to promote (is promoting) TF !
He's been at the head of Gucci and considered Master of Fashion (and Business, LifeStyle etc.) and every female fashion editor has has want him to come back to womenswear ...
