Interview November 2015 : Rooney Mara by Peter Lindbergh

Their best cover in a while...There's a strength to the image despite it veering towards predictable Lindbergh fare, and I think a lot of it has to do with what she's wearing.

Typical Lindbergh, but what a great cover story, Rooney looks flawless.

Only a fantastic face like Rooney's can pull off a raw cover shot like that.

This photoshoot is great by my god she looks just like Tom Hiddleston in some shots.

Horrible!! Possibly the worst cover i have seen from Interview, ever!

I am really liking the soft direction that Interview is taking recently. So much better than their Klein features. Very raw. Very vulnerable. Focus on the beauty. Yes.

But, she looks like Tom Hiddleston in drag (in some shots). Didn't mean that as an offense.

This is their worst cover all year, and possibly last year.
The pictures aren't bad, but they are as dull and lifeless as Rooney Mara always is.

I like the editorial better than the cover, is that the best shot they had?

Although I find the cover styling atrocious, I suppose they were semi successful in choosing that unfortunate glossy Prada cover all thing which helped inject some textural intrigue to the otherwise dull BW image.

When did they start crediting the designer, photog on the cover?
Who's the inadvertent cover star behind Rooney?
Can we see some design chops?

I find it hard to believe the Design Team pushed their creative boundaries with this cover... I see zero chemistry, out of the box thinking in terms of cover photo selection and cover line, text interaction.

None of these images are even editorial worthy. the second to last close-up of Rooney is pretty (boring) but I do prefer the simplicity and subtlety in styling and overall image mood. Sort of in the vein of her Calvin Klein Downtown fragrance campaign shot by Mondino.

the stares and the seen-through-windows shots are very reminiscent of Carol, so that works on many levels.
The cover is intense, i really like it. I wish they'd gone for color/another photographer just to keep in theme with the film, cause there's so much to be inspired from, but Lindbergh can do no wrong in my eyes so i'm pleased anyway

Wish it was in color because I hate back to back months in black n white.

Beautiful cover and ed. I love Rooney and Lindbergh's images are stunning!

It does not look like your usual Interview cover, but I like here. The mood of these images suits her dark persona so much, and she's wearing that Miu Miu pretty well. Dont even mind that it's not in colour. That she's got a blank expression throughout seems to be what's giving this more weight.

Wish they had done something different with Rooney...we see her like this in every photo shoot. What about an Old Hollywood Rooney, Seventies Glam Rooney, Smiley Flapper Rooney?
