Again in Vogue Italia Iris is becoming a favorite at Vogue Italia, her look is perfect for the sort of editorials they do. She manages to look avant-garde while retaining this organic element. Even when she's trussed up she never looks fake or false. I love these pictures - especially the one of her with Anna.

Das sind nicht Ziele einer Urlaubsreise sondern Arbeitsplätze der 24-jährigen St. Johannerin Iris Strubegger – eine Karriere wie im Märchen.


st. johann (Migu). Matura an der Modeschule Hallein, Studium an der Fachhochschule in Salzburg – digitales Fernsehen. In der Medientechnik, dem Management, Marketing oder im Mobilfunkbereich möchte Dipl. Ing. FH Iris Strubegger aus St. Johann (im privat-Bild mit ihrem Vater) später mal arbeiten – oder auch nicht... – wenn die Karriere als Fotomodell und auf den Mode-Laufstegen dieser Welt weiter so erfolgreich verläuft. Entdeckt wurde die 1,82 Meter große Pongauerin, mit einem Idealgewicht von 57 Kilogramm (und das ist nach ihren Angaben in der Branche noch fast zu viel) beim Spaziergang durch New York. In der Modeschulzeit war sie dort drei Monate im Schüleraustausch und wurde angesprochen: „Erst nahm ich das nicht ernst. Dann hat man mich zu einem Fototermin, später von einer europäischen Agentur nach Hamburg eingeladen.“
Wegen ihres Freundes (den hat sie übrigens nach wie vor) und des Studiums, stellte sie die Tätigkeit als Fotomodell und Mannequin aber wieder ein.

i just came across iris' thread and i really like her look. and i love all the shots of her that have been posted in the last few pages. she reminds me a bit of daria mixed with a little of hanne gaby's jawline.

We love a good comeback story, and Iris Strubegger has a great one. In 2002 the Austrian model walked for Calvin Klein and became the face of Armani, but after less than two years in the business, Strubegger quit modeling to finish high school. Now 25, Strubegger's hiatus hasn't seemed to slow down her modeling career at all. Her mile-high cheekbones have recently been shot by Mario Testino for V, Steven Meisel for Italian Vogue, and Craig McDean for Pollini's fall ad campaign. So all you hungry, 14-year-old models, take note: Hitting the books and the runways is possible.
