Jacquemus Pre-Fall 2015

I've always liked the way Simon Jacquemus deconstruct the clothes, but here the 1st look is a bit too far, too edgy for me. But i really like the two grey outfits, very cool !

His mood board has to be covered with J.W.Anderson's pieces. But I like that background, it's more interesting than this version of deconstruction.

sorry but jacquemus is better than JW. at least he knows what his direction is and his attempts aren't contrived. personally he's what viktor & rolf was before they sold out.

Have you seen his pieces in person? Anderson's clothes, though not my cup of tea, are nicely done. Jacquemus's clothes are appallingly made.

I was really excited about him and got really into the hype but with this collection i'm having doubts. The majority of it is rehashed from previous seasons and most of it feels more tacked together and clumsy rather than designed. The rudimentary aspect of his clothes came off as playfully naive, not this time.

That said, those coats are fabulous.

Very pretty background and the clothes aren't too bad either.

looking forward to seeing what he's gonna do next. the direction he takes is interesting but i'm kind of questioning if it will get dull soon.

no i've never seen either's work in hand...i'm just speaking purely in terms of how they formalize their ideas. JW to me just has a very immature aesthetic....it's too all over the place....going from high-concept to overly commercial...jacquemus just seems to have a more distinct style.

Id def check it out in person. It's not all it's cracked up to be. My opinion on Anderson totally changed when I saw his clothes in person. They're quite exquisite. Jacquemus's sadly felt shoddy and I was heartbroken.

Very true! On the surface they both have a certain affinity towards weirdness/quirkiness that can be seen reflected in their silhouettes. However JWA's weird silhouettes stem from a thorough understanding of the body and pattern cutting. Atleast that is what you feel when you see his clothing in person. Jacquemus's clothes look plain-*** weird in person. The fit and construction is questionable at best.
