Jalouse July 2009 : Mark Ronson & Josephine de La Baume

june-july are both months when people in France (and elsewhere in the world - i guess) are getting married ...
then i guess it's coherent to do a wedding editorial in this period ... though as said in the (very uninspired) edito it's very common subject in these times in media ...

what i do not understand (besides the 'fake wedding' idea) is WHY this couple ?
who cares and know about them apart from their family and friends ??????
+ it looks very inspired (not in the casting unfortunately !!) by Jarvis and Camille B.W. wedding long times ago ...
+ it goes on on more than 10p. and is the ONLY editorial through the magazine ...

jalouse has not only gone downhill but has also became (and we say it for every issue since at least 1 yr or 2 !) a more and more clique magazine which only interest the people portray in it !!!! - which is a very selfish attitude !

september would be the best opportunity for Jalouse to take another person to replace Jennifer Eymère ... who's having such an impact on Jalouse's 'going-down-the-hell-way'
troubles for at least 2 years ...
She should go back to L'Officiel - where she did a good job and had no 'true' impact on the editorial guidelines ...

this current issue really embodies what Jalouse is for seasons ... And it's not a good image !

I would love to know their figures since 2yrs and how they export ... because if they carry on going this way means it works somewhere !!!
note : currently they sell approx. 98 000 a month ... but i know nothing about how many in France/rest of the world ... and know nothing about how many they used to sell!

Who's MARK RONSON? Is he the brother of the infamous SAMANTHA RONSON?

he is a producer. he worked with amy winehouse, lilly allen... and yes he is the brother of samantha and charlotte ronson.

BerlinkRocks, I rarely see jalouse being sold here in London, even in big shops known for having a lot of international magazines like borders etc. I imagine in specialist fashion bookshops it does, but I study fashion journalism and I don't know anyone who buys or reads the magazine (or aspires to work in it!!)

^^ That's odd, I would have thought it was widely available in London as here in Stockholm they sell it at ordinary newsagents.

^That's right, I rarely spot it on the shelves in London, ie. Borders. It is surprising.
I love the reactions to this cover, I find it very self-indulgent.

^ Issues in the US are usually about 2 months behind if you can find them...which is probably why I'm not more upset about the magazine going downhill...

i actually kind of like the idea.. but i dont like how it turned out or any of the people involved... except for mark, who i strictly like for his looks.

I hate the cover. The font doens't match with the picture. It looks fanmade.

i feel like the cover would be better in color!
the pics are kinda blah

Borders doesn't sell it but the big WS smith's do, and they sell loads of them, they must get like 100 in some stores, and by the end of the month there are only one or two left. Actually loads of random newsagents sell it. I buy it every month and not always in the same place.

quite like some of these

Same here, and even Mark I'm starting to grow increasingly irritated with.

It would be funny if this actually was a real wedding though. It's weird going through the effort of getting a real couple along with the guests for this concept.

Are these all the scans from the wedding ed Cocoly? If not, could you do the rest of the ed, pretty please?!
They're lovely (in a hipsterish way). Thank you.

Funny they always sell it in Borders Islington and on Oxford Street. It's a bargain at £2.50!
