I think Kate often channels Jane and Francoise Hardy in her style and clothing, also in the way all three can look so sexy yet pure and almost chaste and child-like when nude. Birkin was such a mix of mod and flower child, folk singer and rock star. What an individual, and still so beautiful, as is Hardy.

Also, her daughter Lou Dillon is such a doppelganger in terms of physical characteristics and attitude.

said it helena, she's a REAL style icon to me just for her attitude on growing up gracefuly

i also agree with thefashionista and most of you posting, Jane Birkin has influenced what people take as 'modern style' tremendously aka Kate Moss, almost all good stylists of today, etc
