While I agree that her honesty regarding plastic surgery is refreshing, I'd endeavor to debate the fact that she is part of the "fashion world". Let's face it, anyone on America's Next Top Model isn't an authority on much of anything.

janice is as much a part of the fashion world then & now as anyone. she's the only sane voice on that awful tyra banks show & shes written 2 best-sellers all about her fashion life fame & experiences. how many ex-models have written best-sellers? can you name any others?

that tv show doesn't count...and those books don't either...she has no career in fashion at all whatsoever...period...

She's alright... I don't think she's as terrible as many seem to think she is, but I don't think she's all that great either. I recently read her autobiography and really enjoyed it. She seems confident and has an entertaining personality. I was surprised to read that many people in the US didn't like her look in the beginning of her career. I think she was gorgeous during her time.

After looking at that picture Jadedomega posted, it saddens me that she got plastic surgery even more. Her nose, lips, eyes, etc. look perfect.

her legs in particular are stunning for her age.

her huge modelling success, best-selling books, and outspokeness are all highly admirable. there arent many other ex-model best-selling authors nor as candid and articulate as she. janice is hot. still.

you don't have to be a top model to have a career in fashion. & you don't have to be on the cover of Vogue to have a career in fashion, although she's done both. i'd say she's more of a fashion-insider than any of us "experts" here.
Granted, I am soooo not a fan of America's Top Model nor have I bought her books- I just think it's sucky sour grapes that people believe only the geneticaly gifted & impossibly young are valid.
as for the first supermodel comments- it's just standard PR- a catchy tagline & it works- all your faves do it, if only in a way you find more tasteful & hip so as to go unnoticed. that's biz, ESPECIALLY the fashion biz!

i say- love what you love & ignore what you don't.
