Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture S/S 2020 Paris

From what he said on TV, this is really his farewell collection. He will concentrate on other projects like shows and stuff. He won’t design collections anymore but might still design clothes for shows for example.
The brand will continue but he will put a collective behind...He didn’t want to be specific and said he will release a statement later but the Gaultier brand will still exist and the Ateliers will function.

with all respect to JPG and having acknowledged what Lola has summed up above, i think he should have retired a long time ago. i couldn't help but cringe watching the show, it felt embarrassing at times. perhaps it wouldn't be authentic without the theatrics and music performances but man, they were so amateur. it was a cute and moving farewell party, but as a fashion show, it only reminded me how irrelevant JPG has been for how long, decades now?

I don't care if it was cheesy or circus like this is his last collection, some looks were absolutely incredible and must be major hits within the awards season, met gala, etc (Let's hope celebs who'll chose to wear this are able to pull it off) JPG went out with a bang!

I think JPG brought a sense of fun to an otherwise quite boring Couture week. After the let down of Dior and Chanel, JPG had me mesmerised. This collection brought back that feeling of shock and excitement that one should feel when watching a couture show.
