Jean Paul Gaultier 'Scandal' Fragrance 2017 : Vanessa Axente

Super happy for Vanessa but I don't like this, it looks like one of those creepy photoshop works one does for school

'I, too, wanted to cause a scandal'...who still write such archaic English! LOL.

It's cheap, just like the corny bottle, but I imagine that was the intent.

I guess you haven't seen the TV commercial  The photoshopping/ retouching or whatever is even worst and messy..

Vanessa looks pretty but between the ad and the bottle, cheapness all around...

From my experience they probably come up with something in French and literally try to make it work in English which is tragic. I feel like the product has great potential.

I like it, much more effort and an intent of creating something original.
Unlike the 99% rest of the campaigns of other brands in the past years not creating nothing that even shows effort.

I´m looking at the pic and bottle, the hint of lingerie and see-through, the legs up in the air... and I wonder if this is a bit misogynistic and out of touch with what´s going on with the world in terms of feminism? like a woman´s sexual encounters/sexuality would cause a scandal?
am I reading too much into this?

Lol, yeah you are. This is so outdated, I can't even imagine anyone being offended by it. This is a Kardashian world we live in now unfortunately.

Oh and its really ugly too, please don't tell me JP Goude was responsible for this? Total misuse of Vanessa as well. Cast her for the goddess part, not the mischievous scandal heroine.

Looks like the type of perfume ad you'd see in an issue of Mademoiselle from 1993, appearing somewhere near the back of the magazine.

It's JPG. His divas are, among others, Madonna and Dita Von Teese. His idea of a woman is someone sexually empowered. Sexy, outrageous, being herself. It's far (or at least it was far) from any misogynist agenda. Leave that to Karl. ;)

I just wish we could see a POC model fronting a perfume campaign. Tired of all the blondies.

I would vote for her at any time. #Mamasita ^_^
