Jean was the face of the Nouvelle Vague in France.
She's an icon symbolizing youth and modernity.
Her style in Breathless made a huge impact over here and she's still look up to.
It was so fresh and unadorned compared to the sex kittens of her time.
Everybody used to copy Brigitte Bardot and then there was this cute , charming american slip of a girl who was incredibly attractive with her pixie face and her simplicity.

The fact that she was american was important too because french people have always like foreign actresses in their movies and because America fascinated .It was seen as a free and uncontrived contry.
