Jellies / Jelly shoes

Oh my! For some reason, yesterday I got thinking about those plastic sandals I wore as a kid, called Jelly Babies....I don't know what made me think of them.
I used to live in these things all summer....you could wear them to school, and at the beach and even go in the water in them! I think I may have even wore them to a wedding as a toddler! I hadn't seen them in forever, and I just assumed they didn't make them anymore, but I did an Yahoo image seach, and lo and hehold, you can still get them! Does anyone else remember these from their childhood?

Oh my, these were huge in Brazil in the 80's. I never wore them though, they'd give me blisters.

Weren't these quite popular again last summer? Eh, I used to love to wear them when I was little. I didn't call them jellybabies though, just jellies or jelly shoes.

yes ...meg is right...they had a huge resurgence last year...
payless did very well with them i think...as an alternative to flip flops...

but i heard they were hard to walk in because your feet sweat and slide around...
doesn't sound very good to me.... LOL...

Seriously?Where did they make a comeback? I NEVER saw them! Was it in the northern hemisphere? Because of the seasons difference here, we have our 'trends' for the season later, since our winter is the n.h summer and so on....
Anyway, I hadn't seen this since I wore them a child! i honestly thought they'd stopped making them!

Ah, I live in Australia.....Melbourne is a wonderfully stylish 'Shopping Mecca' as it is often described, but a long way from the US and Canada!
So things can be somewhat different all across the world can't they? I honestly can't remember why they popped into my head that day? Perhaps I did see someone wearing them, but I think I would have remembered that....a real blast from the past!

OMG! I sooo wore glittery yellows when I was 5-6 years old!
They are cute on kids, but I don't know what I would wear them with now, and I think they might look a bit silly on me!

burberry made some jellie sandals last year. i haven't worn jellie since i was little though. i think they look cute on little girls though, like toddler age.

Haha! Jellies! I had so many pairs when I was little. I remember I used to wear them with these ruffly socks lol.

They've started selling them in a store here though, for teenage girls.

And ....... (almost too embarresed to admit ) When I was about thirtheen, there was this short period where they were trendy again.....but this time with heels! I loved them so much and now I hardly even dare to think about how silly I must have looked They were pale blue transparent with glitters and a square chunky heel
